The RIP thread

RIP Stella Stevens (84 years old)

I remember her from some of those 60s Jerry Lewis films.

Wrote the story it was based on. I’d say Marilyn and Racquel were added in by the scriptwriters.
Yeah you're correct, I should have said King wrote the book, the script was written by the director.

Now this gets very interesting. The novel Andy Dufresne has a poster of 'Linda' in his cell. In the book, the poster is described as thus

"Linda was looking back over her shoulder, her hands tucked into the back pockets of a very tight pair of fan-colored slacks. She was wearing a halter and she had a deep California tan."

"Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" audiobook on YouTube. Linda is mentioned in part 5 of 6, at just past 9 minutes, and a couple more times.

The Linda everyone says King was referring to in the novel was Linda Ronstadt.

That's as close as I could find on the net, maybe it was just Stephen King's mind the hands in the back pocket :D

Joey Perrini, in the soap Another World (played by Ray Liotta), my mum watched the show okay so I know Ray was in it
He had the Simple Dreams poster on his bedroom wall :)

Yeah she was pretty big back in the day, the Jerry Lewis/Dean Martin movies, Elvis as well.
Seemed to drift from movies into TV the mid-late 60's.

Being a KISS fan, a side note for her personal life.
She was in a long-term relationship with Robert Kulick, Bruce Kulick's older brother.
Both the brother's had stints as guitarists with KISS, Robert nearly was going to be in Ace Frehley's original spot, a few years later his brother Bruce replaced Mark St John who replaced Vinnie VIncent who replaced Ace Frehley, now that's a full 360 degree circle.

Must be the highest amount of TV shows a fictional character has appeared in - John 'Munch' appeared in 11 shows.

He battled addiction issues his whole life. Was Heidi Fleiss partner for a while.

Yeah, I knew he had serious issues.
Great actor though.
Yeah one of my bosses had a brain aneurysm years ago.,Luckily for him they could operate and he at least lasted another 20 years, although he walked slow, no arm strength, I had to do all the heavy lifting around the office  He could drive and feed himself but it was like his left side was working about 50% of normal.

De Niro even got him into rehab one time, but still relapsed 3-4 years later. Must be hard as though to shake it, Keith Urban would be one of the more famous successful dudes that I know off who has just gone from strength to strength since going into rehab.

*smile* Fosbury, inventor of the "Fosbury Flop" technique now used ubiquitously in high jump.
Swear filter, my God!
