The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

Wasn't Richardson fav last night?

There's a rumour floating around on email, which makes it doubly unreliable, that Hinkley will be offered the coaching role and Richardson as assistant. The theory goes that there's no way Richardson will get the chief gig at the Pies anytime soon and so might be tempted to jump ship.

What makes that email triple unreliable is that Richardson now works for the Bombers.

The only way we wont get Hardwick is if we don't want him.

Yeah, I know. ;D

Perhaps it was worded badly. Like... unfortunately for people who wanted him (fans), we might not end up with him as coach.

We need someone with balls first then he has 5 years of experience to his name has a assistant coach with a premiership side.

And how does that differ to Hinkley?

I have no preference (actually I do and it is anyone but Jade).

Hardwick comes with a better profile because he played in 2 premiership's.As for a prefarence im in the same boat as you anyone but the blade.

The fact that no one knows anything is brilliant. Even in the Hun there is a story about Leppitsch and they said "
It is believed Leppitsch had an interview with Richmond last month."

It is believed they have no idea and I bet it is hurting them.

Gives hope that this club is starting to turn it all around and this is the beginning.

Has to be Hinkley then.

Hinkley has been an assistant in a premiership team, has coached his own team, seems to know how to motivate, has been a big part in Geelongs success and was chosen by Blight to assist him at St.Kilda BUT he hasn't been involved in a rebuild at AFL level.

Hardwick has been involved in premierships both as a player and assistant, has been involved in a rebuild BUT hasn't coached his own team and has been over looked by a number of clubs.

My concern over Hinkley is his lack of involvement in a rebuild, as Geelong have never been rock bottom and have had the cattle. Does he know whats involved? Does he realise that a rebuild is required or does he think that he can motivate the current group up the ladder? If it's the latter then its a massive concern. Does he fully understand the hard work thats involved in a full rebuild, coz thats whats required.

Hardwick has seen first hand whats required with a rebuild, and if done properly how you can quickly climb the ladder. He's played & assisted under some good coaches and seen premierships everywhere he's been. However their must be a flaw somewhere as he's been knocked back a few times after presenting himself and his ideas on coaching.

flip the coin.
