Why does he have to coach for the year?

Appoint him, let him preside over the trading period just to get cred, then have him retire for unforseen medical/personal reasons and appoint Hardwick/Richardson/Cameron etc?

haha that's not so stupid. argentina have maradonna as their coach, but it's only a token position... everyone knows that others are pulling the strings behind the scenes. we could do the same with john barnes ;D
