The I ❤️ Collingwood thread.

Just another thing, Buckley played at Collingwood 1994 to 2007 and coached from 2012-2021.

They won their two flags around him in 1990 and 2010.

Reverse Midas touch?

I can't stand Lollingwood, their supporters, Bucks and especially Mason Cox who single handedly ruined our 5 peat. Only a Tiger era of dominance gives me more pleasure than seeing these guys in turmoil. However, credit where it is due they have handled Buckley's departure better than any other coach sacking in my time following the game. The media are treating him like he is Bambi and the exit was clean.............pay out must have been nice!

or

Of course it could just be he is so happy about shagging a chick way out of his league he doesn't give a crap. The best cure for stress and metal health issues known to man.

One thing I do find amusing and ironic is that their 2 greatest players, according to McGuire and a lot of other were Bob Rose and Figgy. For a club that claims to be so successful and to have won so many flags, those 2 with their playing and coaching records at the club have won exactly 0 premierships
o_O
Rose played in their 1953 premiership team.

Heard a whisper that Buckley has quit, HUN hinted at it today, awaiting confirmation.

Interesting fact on Buckley, believe that no past player or coach, has ever in the history of the VFL/AFL, ever been involved in more games, and not won a flag. I think 2nd on the list is Ross Lyon, oh the irony if Ross is Nathans replacement ,

the real irony will be if Ross replaces and wins a flag

Hope Ross Lyon does take over at Collingwood. Retread coaches apart from Matthews and Malthouse don’t seem to have the ultimate success this century.

2000 Sheedy
2001 -2003 Matthews
2004 Williams
2005 Roos
2006 Worsfold
2007 Thompson
2008 Clarkson
2009 Thompson
2010 Malthouse
2011 Scott
2012 Longmire
2013 -2015 Clarkson
2016 Beveridge
2017 some bloke
2018 Simpson
2019-2020 that same bloke again

Matthews and Malthouse had coached Grand Finals already before doing it at their previous club. In Malthouse's case, he won premierships with his 2nd and 3rd clubs.

All true but go back a couple of years and add Blight to the list

That’s one thing, but what annoys me are the lengths our small-pond media will go not to offend this seemingly untouchable man.
None of our local sports media is brave enough to contemplate n contend with the prospect of Eddieeeee chewing on their arses.

Rose won a flag in 1953.

The signs were there last week.
They caught Bucks loading his car up with stationary and footballs
