Tambling (merged)

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Geez Ive been dissapointed with a large percentage of Richies games this year, no doubt has never had elite football smarts however just dosent seem to be working hard enough without the ball, IMHO he must lift his concentration dramatically, Richie must get back to last years form at a minimum and I personally dont care where he plays he has to start having a stronger impact in games, no room for 23 year old passengers

Re: Tambling [Merged]

wondering if anyone here knows the effects of compartment syndrome?
isnt that what tambling had/has?
from my understanding it makes it hard to run explosively and to run long and hard. which funnily enough have been the main criticism of tambling this year.

its all well and good to say if he plays he gets judged on performances, and if he isnt fit he shouldnt play, but picking the team is up to the match committee. if they think his performances are worthy of our best 22, and he recovery wont be hampered by playing then they pick him.

similarly last year his detractors claim he started the year poorly and only had a mid year streak of reasonable games. last year he was one of our best in the first game, (not a big effort but he wasnt poor that night). he missed round 2 with a hammy, then he had a shocker in rd 3 after having about 4 hours sleep in the previous 48hrs. he was dropped came back and played ok in rd 5 then was in the best in rd6. his form stayed high until he played a couple of average games in thrashings in rd 20 and 22.

having said all that his hammy mightnt have come at a bad time.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

I believe if he doesn't show any huge improvement this year, we should cut our losses and trade him off,
We cant have a 2010 version of Aaron Fiora..

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Every year he's been at the club he's improved. I certainly couldn't say that this year so far.
I hope he has been hindered by the CS because if not he's bait.

Ritchie is a patriot. Not going anywhere.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Bling has been struggling for fitness and run this year, the hammy will only make that worse because he will be restricted in his running while he is rehabing. When he comes back the hate might get even stronger as he won't get back to his 2009 form for a many more weeks yet, if at all.

If Tambling wasn't fit Kurtzy he shouldn't have been playing seniors. Especially in a year where it's not of uber importance to risk injured players.
Hardwick is not in the same position as Wallet who needed to play injured footballers regardless so I'd expect that Tambling has been largely fit even if not at 100%.
When Bling returns from the hammy he should come back through Coburg until he is unrestricted in his running because if he continues to put in mediocre performances at senior level whatever the reasons, the angst will remain.

I think there is healthy enough to get on the park without risk, and then there is fit enough to play well. We clearly have a number of players who are healthy but not 100% fit. Bling also has a history of carrying his niggles poorly.

But I do agree that he need a spell in Couburg before he comes back. I wouldn’t promote him until he has had a 25+ touch game at Couburg.

There's a difference between being injured and recovering from injury.
Compartment Syndrome is pretty serious and Tambing had both his calves sliced open over the off-season. Not the ideal preparation for a big season of elite sport.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

RT has the potential to be a good player, not a great player
at his best he is in our best 22, unfortunately he is not at his best and should be playing at coburg until he shows consistency and workrate that demands a game in the seniors.

He is simply lazy like many on our list, we know what he can do as opposed to someone not on our list so trading is not an option IMO.

He simply must play reserves footy until he improves

Re: Tambling [Merged]

i have compartment syndrome.

before i got it i was running 3km in under 10 mins, now i can barely run 1km without having to stop from the the pain. really hard to run at pace for extended periods of time, hard surfaces aggravate it much much faster. i know ppl who have had it and had the surgery to fix it, it took all of them several months before they were running pain free, and several more on top of that before they were at their peak.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Happy to give Bling the benefit of the doubt. Let him rest and finish the season strong.

We have plenty of real duds on our list before we start looking for scapegoats.

Perhaps not but surely if he's being so inhibited by an injury, a better situation would be to ease him back through the lower levels until he regains match fitness rather than feed him to the wolves?

He sure does.
