The amount ASX companies donate wouldn't cover a third tier executive salary.
So you could argue
1) getting influence over government comes remarkably cheap (in shareholders interest)
2) and even if it doesn't achieve anything the impact on profit is a drop in the ocean.
Seems to be some consensus that politicians should not be influenced ... I want them to listen... To individuals, community groups, welfare lobbies, professional associations, yes even big huge whopping businesses who employ and serve and profit Australians.
