Talking Politics

Will be interesting whether Dutton and the Libs supports Labor's proposed caps on donations and campaign spending.

Mudguts Palmer isn't happy, and I'd expect Dutton's good friend Mudguts Rinehart won't be thrilled either.

The Teals are ropable.

With the hammering the Libs got at the last Federal election by the Teals, they would be well advised to support Labor's proposed legislation.

"Gina Rinehart's company Hancock Prospecting has declared a $150,000 political donation more than a year after the legal deadline, following the ABC's revelation the funds were sent to the Liberal Party via a third party."

I’d ban all donations from anyone. And especially using taxpayers money for political ads of any type.
All they do it rehash their own bs repeatedly. They can raise money from cake stalls if they want to run advertising campaign.
And no rebates from the taxpayer for the number of votes a party or candidate receives. What a bloody rort that we taxpayers have to fork out for, just to help fill these bastards coffers

Stand by your record or public interviews. Nothing from big or small business or the taxpayer.

You do know Elon removed the blocking function a few days before the US election, right? That's pretty horrific for vulnerable people. And there is little doubt he would have used his algorithms to promote pro-Trump rhetoric on his platform.
Wouldn't have a clue, because the only social meedjia I do is right here on PRE. Just wondering why all of a sudden so many people who normally use multiple social platforms for many years suddenly could no longer tolerate being on Twitt or X factor or whatever it's called.
But admittedly, there are 2 sides to all of that. I called Jeff Kennett a massive C U Next Tuesday this morning because he think the Myer Xmas windows are more important than genocide protesters. You can say whatever you want without any repercussions anymore.
Melb CBD is just protester central these days. Always someone with a more important opinion stuffing it down everyone else's throat whether they're interested or not. Nothing else to do with their lives than *smile* up other peoples days.

A fellow tin foil hat wearer, you must be overjoyed.

Who needs a vaccine when they can use random tablets that have no known benefit, or inject themselves with bleach.

I still do think the bleach idea, is actually very good at killing diseases. It stops 100% of diseases when you kill the host.

Maybe this will help. The election and Musk’s involvement sped things up but it has been happening for quite a while

Because protesting the genocide in Gaza is really about stuffing up everyone’s ordinary lives so poor little Johnny can’t see the Myer Xmas Windows.

Oh, and where was Jeff when cookers were pi55ing on the Shrine and doing the Nazi salute in front of it 3 years ago?

I feel for you TM.

Chatted with my friend in Gaza last night, miraculously him and his family are still alive.

I told him about all these protests we are having in Melbourne and he said "you poor bastard, sounds like hell"

Get some *smile*en perspective TM

I was sent a photo of a street in Beirut last week. A large building and the one next door basically demolished by Israeli attacks. The reason I was send it was a couple of buildings down was the Lebanese office of a large international aid organisation and a relative of mine has worked out of that office multiple times.
Noone is safe, not even those who are doing nothing but helping others.
I'm not a fan of disrupting daily life like those protests would have but my reason is nothing more than that I suspect it probably does more harm to the cause than good. However as a caller to a radio station I was listening to said today " we would be wise to think about why they are protesting, and that's because they are seeing death and destruction in the Middle East on an enormous scale and they believe it is being ignored and forgotten, and they are right. "
