Still giving us nothing...'cept Cups and Medals

Pulling us apart? What was their biggest lead? 4 points?

Collingwood were getting a a lot of possession but they weren't penetrating. Collingwood kicked 100+ points their previous 3 games but only managed 70 against us. Tigers on the other hand kicked the highest score for the round. We won inside 50s 67 to 51. Bottom line is if we didn't waste so many chances during the game it would have been over by half time. From that perspective it was similar to the Blues game where they were heaped praise for their efforts but it was poor Tiger conversion that kept them in it. Collingwood did a great job pressuring us, trying to do what we do best, and in the end they failed dismally. I think Collingwood will do well this year but they are no match for the premiers.

I love that they give us nothing. Will make finishing top of the ladder and going back to back even sweeter!

Chorus is getting louder.

Been listening to radio late last night, SEN , talk back and the blame at the state of the current game,, style, tactics is being levelled to the RFC .

Bring interchange numbers down to limit our pressure around the contest.

Andy Maher winging big time. Hates the game and look. Richmond are part of the problem( his words). Not the footy that was played 20-25 years ago.

Del Santo saying he sees no issue. He pointed this out which is the main thing, skill level is poor.

The AFL are the blame here. Now don't jump down my throat but when you expanded and brought in more teams the talent poor is spread over 18 teams and it is t as strong.

But also this is where I agree too with Del is grass roots football from Auskick, kids are not taught the mechanics of kick and hand ball efficiently. I'm big on this aspect. Kids are not taught to kick and hand ball on their non preferred . I see this at my sons junior club. I'm on to him and spend at least an hour a week on his non preferred.

But I bet if Mahers Cartlton were in the top 4 wouldn't be winging as much.

What happened to Poo$y and his beloved $wan$.....what did they do again with that rugby game?? Let's not forget Wossy and Freo too.

This is why I appreciate American sports. They don't have the childish biased morons we have in all forms of AFL media.

It's all just *smile*. Why is the game all of a sudden in trouble but it was fine last year?? Talent pool talk is just crap. We haven't had a better list in the past 20 years. Maybe the limited talent pool is in the quality of coaches (and not to mention journos and commentators).

Media clearly reporting without the facts

1) we have scored more point this year than any other team (630) - next best is GWS 21 points less

2) we had the highest score this weekend and was one of 4 teams to kick more than 100 points

3) I think we have kicked over 100 points in every game apart from Rd 2 (this needs to be checked)

4) we are only 1 in 4 teams with an efficiency in front of goal over 60% which surprises me - the others are west coast, GWS and Adelaide. Interesting only Geelong (52), Hawks (50) and Sydney (50) track at 50% or more.

5) we also have a very good defence - only Giant and lolnorf have conceded less points.

I don't think it's Richmond dragging down the standard of footy - let's keep reminding people the Tigers are a high scoring team

Western this chorus is gaining hysteria proportions.

This occurred and has been getting louder after we pantsed with tough, contested, team first football in the GF.

If Adelaide won this wouldn't be an issue.

Don't know the stats but our last 10 games we have kicked what over 100 pts 9 times. ?

Would t say that is boring, change the game chorus, rules, state of the shizen, skills shizen.

Not our problem that other sides skills are poor and their scores are low.
Granted our skills on Sunday for the first 2 and a half quarters were not great, heaven forbid the competition if that clicks for 4 quarters.

Give credit where it's due.

Can't wait to hear Blight tomorrow with Gerard on SEN.

20 years ago is 1998 which is around the time the game changed to become more defensive with Eade's Swans, so its utter *smile* from Radar.

Amazing that Dal Santo is closer to the truth which is the dilution of talent caused by too many teams.

Going to be gold tv.

And I'm going to miss through work commitments . Bummer.

It pops up on YouTube about 20 mins after it finishes. Allows you also to cue the Sportsbet rubbish and other ads.

I don't think it's a skill issue, it's a pressure issue.

Players have less time to execute a kick and defenders are better at filling the space, which means more errors.

As for footy as a spectacle, it's never been better. Love the way we play.

I agree, your ability to handle pressure has become just that much more important. The skill level of players has improved over time which I think has negated somewhat the extra players introduced in more teams. But when there is so much pressure, after a while players even feel implied pressure and that's what causes skill errors. Tigers in the finals did that to every team. By the last quarter the opposition was a fumbling, bumbling mess.

I partially agree, I do believe the skills (and therefore the games) have been ordinary this season but to blame it on Richmond is stupid.

Correct, we should ease up on the opposition.

Should have stuck with our original forward line plan; Griffiths, Vickery, Lennon, Nathan Gordon, Relton Roberts to give opposition a fighting chance.

Thanks Scotty for the info.

Now what's being said by some wingers is that we have had the softest of draws.

And no injuries.

Granted we lost to Adelaide over there, but we have put away finals aspirants the Hawks, Melbourne and Collingwood .

What next? Can we not be scheduled to play the Tigers at the MCG?
