Steve Morris F/S

If ever there was a guy who has been given insatiable pleasures by an Angel, it's this guy.

Should think himself lucky for Dimma. Wouldn't get a game at Carlton. Love his determination, his fight, his love for the jumper. But just not good enough, and shouldn't be given a game anymore.

Myopic selection.

Do the other 17 teams have a " morris " A player that when selected sees your inbox and texts full of messages , expressing full on scorn and merriment through to genuine sympathy :hihi

I wish we could bottle his heart and get some other players to drink its nutrients. Like Duncan Kellaway, makes the absolute most of his talents and does everything for the club.

Unlike DK, doesn't have the ability to be AFL standard.

I'm sure all clubs have someone matching that description. Unlike us, most of em get delisted after a year or two.

Must play as a back pocket stopper on Jeff.
There is merit in that (and I've been one to prefer us when he's not getting a game.)
And that's what you do with your depth players - make use of them if the need arises.

Morris for Hunt. Hunt for Morris.

Townsend for Moore. Moore for Townsend.

I suppose 4 quarters equals a whole.

I like your forensic analysis, TT.
Unfortunate that RFC can't see what this equation actually means on game day.

I know it is poor form, but this guy playing is the main reason I will not be going tomorrow night.

I cannot reconcile it, and the thought of him flailing around is too much for me.

I thought the club had moved past this stuff. Morally and ethically wrong I know, but I don't give a toss..

Would rather ANY young bloke in there..

Same. It's not just the fact that he will be physically out there flailing and directing traffic like some court jester, always half a second too late at everything he aspires to, it's also how his playing reflects upon the tiges as a club.

I'm sure he wouldn't get a game with any top 8 team. So if we continue to game him knowing he is not that good at the expense of developing young talent then our future is so so bad. Are our club leaders drunk driving or just totally deluded? It's a depressing direction in which we're heading. And it's weak.

Morris is a good VFL player. That is his level. Unfortunately as long as he's on the senior list he'll remain on this merry go round. Play well in the VFL, get selected for the seniors, fail, go back to the VFL and the cycle repeats. Must be Capuanoed asap so that the temptation to pick him is removed.

It's that old problem isn't it.

You can't question Morris' effort, attitude and attack on the man/ball. He just has no ability.

Then we have guys like Griffiths, Vickery, Lennon etc. who have the opposite problem.

The bizarre thing is that Morris keeps getting selected, only to perform badly then get dropped. But then gets selected again.

It's not like he gets reselected and stars. So it appears Dimma chooses him him in the HOPE he performs at the required level rather than observe the repeated failings.

So we bring back Morris to stop a small forward who we didn't rate and didn't want and could have got for nothing.

Bizaro world.

Let's just all hope he has a good game and is part of a Richmond win that helps get our season back on track.

Makes some sort of sense Harry. If we really believe Gartlett cant play then Morris is the perfect match.
