Steve Hocking

You're missing the points gents and ladies. The object of higher scores has absolutely zero to do with a spectacle.
It's all about Harvey selling toxic TV's, NAB conning the punters out of coin, and Maccas choking our arteries for profit. Oh, and AFL Execs pocketing obnoxious bonus amounts. Because of the lack of progress we are now subjected to invasive banners on our screens that minimise the view in an attempt to distract us from the game.
When I see posts like this it makes me glad I have Foxtel. Even then it sucks that they have 7’s commentary feed.

Heard an interview with Jake Lloyd and he was asked about Steve Hockings rule changes and he replied:

"Um, yeah, they've made the game more open and higher scoring"
Yeah, but he's a Lloyd. Not sure which is the smarter of the two, Jake or Hymie.

For those who haven't seen it...

Which team will be impacted most by 6-6-6 setup?

The AFL has enforced starting positions for every centre bounce for season 2019.

A ‘6-6-6’ set up of six players in each 50-metre arc, as well as six through the midfield (four in the centre square and two wingmen) will be required to take place whenever the ball is bounced in the centre of the ground at the beginning of the game or after a goal, in a bid to ease congestion.

According to Champion Data’s Jacob Wilson, the one club that could be hit negatively by this rule change is Richmond.

“The team that’s the most affected by this is actually Richmond,” Wilson said on Sportsday.

“Richmond set up 6-6-6 the least amount, just 3% of the time last year. The rest of the league was doing it about 40% of the time.

“They actually went 8-6-4 (set up) 11% of the time, with eight defenders, two off the back of the square.

“When they did that, they didn’t concede a score for the entire season.

“You can see why the AFL has had to bring in these rules. Using those guys off the back of the square is incredibly effective.

“What we’re hoping is it brings Richmond back to the pack a little bit.”

After winning the premiership in 2017, the Tigers were humbled by Collingwood in last season’s Preliminary Final.

“What we’re hoping is it brings Richmond back to the pack a little bit.”

Even Champion Data is in cahoots with Hocking's mob!

Obviously it did SFA given we won the next two flags, but it's the intent that counts. Just totally *smile* wrong. Richmond didn't even make the 2018 GF, but the undesirables must be stopped!

Geexz, how about some other clubs try it in then. Said it before but does any other league in the world try and bring down the champs rather than inspire others to be better to ultimately dethrone the champs.

AFL, been enforcing sporting socialism for 30 years. Doesn't matter how hard the best clubs try to improve and succeed. The AFL honchos will find a new rule to strangle them n drag them back to the mediocrity of the also rans.

Scoring going backwards
But 12 metres passes are allowed and running with the ball for 30 meters without bouncing it is allowed.
I wouldn't mind some times watching other teams play. Now it's a 5 minute check score then change the channel.
The game is fked.
Why dosent the media publish the crowds anymore???
Looked like an army reserves crowd last night.
Wheres the messiah?
