This was the time terrace culture was starting to change for the better in England, and also when Madchester was approaching its peak. The Kippax at Maine Road was filled with bananas every week, and on Boxing Day 1988 City fans went to Stoke for a "fancy dress party". I suppose you have to have a sense of fun following Manchester City.
