Song/Albums that stir the emotions

Monuments album Gnosis is epic. Just ordered amanuensis as well. Great for rolling Jiujitsu. Especially when I'm about to get mauled by a black belt

One of the most powerful songs in the late 60's. Merry Clayton suffered a miscarriage straight after recording this song with the Stones.

I've got her album with her version of gimmee shelter. Great vocals

*smile*...just heard Steve Strange died two months ago at 55 years of age. RIP to the new wave pioneer.

Here are two of my best you might like see/revisit:
1. Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar

2. The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Bring Me The Head Of Paul McCartney
(explicit lyrics but try to put a name to all the beautiful screen starlets you see)

Just watched the ABC series 'Blood and Thunder: The Sound of Alberts' showing the rise of rock from the mid-60s with the Easybeats and into the Youngs (Malcolm and Angus of AC/DC).

Really sad to see what Stevie Wright looks like now....that's drugs for you. My favourite part of his Evie trilogy was the melodic 2nd but....geez....was it a coincidence they played that part while some of his best mates teared up a bit about him?

Just recently bought Muse's album Drones, I reckon it's the best album I've bought in 15 years, not that I've bought many in that time. Absolutely brilliant

Any metal/guitarist fans on her would do well to check out Flux Conduct Qatsi. It's an Album by John Browne from Monuments (equally epic.) Instumental metal/djent. Think Animals as Leaders but less...intense

Seeing her tomorrow Gasometer Hotel.

Wonderful voice.

The more I listen to this album ,the more it wraps it's tentacles over me.

Get a wine ,sit on the couch ,fire this up on your hifi and be mesmerised.(do yourself a favour :hihi)

What an incredible talent, only matched by it's waste.

Its funny how you can suddenly discover a band that have been around for more than 40 years. In my case I've just discovered Kansas, in particular Carry on Wayward Son

Finally found out which song is in that Ford Focus ad. Sarah Blasko - I Awake. Now I can sleep.... ;D

Once watched never forgotten, a weird little number adapted from the movie 'The triplets of Belleville'

Not sure if this is the right thread but had a look at the Midnight Oil exhibition today at the Arts centre. Definitely worth a look for Oils tragics and fans of Oz rock.

MMM has been playing this cover lately "The Sound of Silence" by a Chicago Heavy Metal Band "Disturbed".
The lead singer is David Draiman.

Powerful, Haunting. One of the best covers I have ever heard.

As Molly would say do yourselves a favour: https://vimeo.com/144828601
