Agree, on the assumption these two dont find new ways of injuring themselves.

Unfortunately that's not as funny as it sounds. Imagine the carnage if Hampo was first ruck and Griffo was third man up!

Didn't Hampson have a blinder against Carlton last year in the second game - no one could believe that he marked everything in sight - if he plays 1/2 as well on Thursday night he will have earn't his pay.

He did. He strung a few decent games together. I can remember Healy repeatedly saying that we better watch out that someone didn't poach Hampson from us, although he never bothered to check that Hampson was still contracted to Richmond for 2016.

I doubt Hampy is going to double his contested marks and goals per game averages.

And when you recruit a mature aged ruck on a 3 year contract @ $300k per annum you dont want to wait 2 or 3 years before they start performing.

People keep upping his contract in this debate, he's on about 250k which is at the lower end of the spectrum.

"Talks, a medical, a contract believed to be three years at about $250,000 with added incentives, was all completed, leaving the delicate issue of satisfying Carlton in a trade deal."

I stand corrected on the amount. Doesn't change my point though.

Hampson was recruited to cover Maric, something which has occured reasonably seasmlessly. This year will be the big test as I predict Ivy is nearing the end and we'll be seeing a lot more of Hammer. To date he's put in some very good games and some absolute stinkers, like another poster mentioned, the difference between his best & worst is huge, we just need to hope this is the year he finds some consistency.

yep, as a 2nd ruck Hampson compares ok to most others in the league.
normally i wouldnt mind him getting a game when Maric misses. problem is i doubt he is 100% fit. he rucked about half a game against Port, and spent the rest of the game sitting in the forward, something we do not want once the real stuff starts. he needs to be fit enough to ruck 85/90% of the game.

this week I would prefer to see the holy trinity if TV, Griff and McBean share ruck and forward line duties, expecially against a smaller mobile ruckman such as Kruezer.

He is such a poor footballer really ,just terrible , can't kick cant mark can't read the play .

Just a hack plain and simple .

God help us

UK- Don't you think TV and Griff will play ?.
At least one and probably both will play. However with Hampson in the team as a ruckman we are effectively one man down from ball up. Griff or TV would only be back up if he plays

I'm calling it early.
He'll be in our top 5 for the game.

Agree with this. Either in our Top 5, or last, and I'm hoping for Top 5!

Go the Hampervan!

If I recall, he was serviceable against the Blues last time. Even clunked a number of marks
