Semi finals 2022: Cleaning dog hair off the couch games

Longmuire playing a Paul Roos game style in 2022.
Most inspiring bloke in world sport.
Freo's midfield is too small now without Mundy and most likely no Fyfe in there, Howlong & Bradshaw will battle away but when it comes to big games, not good enough.
The Footscary loss looks a whole lot worse today

The bulldogs need a full club inquiry into that loss now u look back at it.

Freos ball movement was atrocious. As our very own Jack Riewoldt pointed out, it was their offensive work that was causing them problems defensively.

Longmuire needs to have a good hard look at his game plan because based on what we’ve seen it doesn’t stack up in finals.

I forgot the pies finished 17th last year.

How bad a coach must Buckley be??

So out of the 4 Prelim finalist , we beat 2 of them and were in front with less then a minute to go against the others , in what most called a poor year , I think this one may have been a big missed opportunity
No thinking about it. We simultaneously shat the bed while getting shat on by either the footy gods or AFL Illuminati (take your pick)

As someone on twitter pointed out they made the GF in 2018 and a prelim in 2019 so they had the core of a good team. Many of their good players missed big chunks of last year and they have added Daicos and Lipinski who have both been terrific.

A big well done to David Mundy on a fantastic career.

At 37 years of age he was still well and truly holding his own, received 20 Brownlow votes last year as a 36 year old.

Retires with not a bad word said about him (maybe a few of us from a couple of those heart breaking goals) after 18 years, he's a credit to himself and his family.

:clap2

A few thoughts on the pies
As a football fan I enjoyed watching the pies midfield surging downfield. Smile they run hard. Obvs a lot like our tiger gamestyle. I think theyd run faster and harder than us now. Good to watch, a worry for next year.

The pies forwards are fast and loose too. It seems a good counter to a well structured defence. One tall to contest the long kicks, a medium workhorse (mihocik / caddy) and speed Demons. Much like 2017!

On Freo
I,d kept hearing how good their tall backs were. Supposedly champion All Australian types.
But they were ordinary. Cox had a good 1st quarter against an out of depth Johnson but otherwise he and Luke Ryan were beaten and erratic

Serong got plenty of the ball but like Lachie Neale doesn't always have hurt factor

I think we need to cool the jest on the pies. Good year good on them, but those close games that they won geez there were some that I couldn't believe they got over the line, Bombers, Blues, GC and Crows. Had they lost even one of them, they don't make the top 4. They won't win all those close games next year, your luck cant last that long. Next year they get a harder fixture, by virtue of finishing top 4.

Dunno about that. Geelong finished top 4 last year and got to play both North Melbourne and West Coast twice. How does that happen? Fair head start for them.
