Sam Lloyd

Lloyd will always be welcome back. Busted his guts to a game. A true Richmond player
Not like Lennon
Not like Griffens
Not like Vickery

Some are looking at this from a differing perspective.

We have been blessed with an amazing run with injuries in the past couple seasons and therefore haven't really required the need to utilise the depth players.

A few more injuries and being without the likes of our departed players we would have been stuffed.

You can't keep players who don't want to be with us though.

Lloydy loved the Tiges but his point and its a fair one bearing in mind his age, is that he wanted to go somewhere else where he had a better chance to play AFL rather than VFL. Its fair enough but I get your frustration, we do need some more mids. If we can find some ready made mids in the draft, maybe getting 1 or 2 more 2nd's or early 3rds and bring in some of those more ready mids. We need some that will be good players but maybe not superstars.

You can’t include Griffiths with the other two.

Well, zigzag does have a point. Griffo didn't bust a gut for us, he busted his head over and over again.

Like others - I'm happy for him to get an afl game and if the best chance of that is elsewhere then so be it. His papers were definitely stamped use only in case of injury and that assumes no bright young things are coming through.

And just why did we not trade Lloyd for Roughead?
I would much rather have a competitive second ruck/key back than a pick 64 for the next two years.

Any chance of Chris Bond coming on board?

Sad to see Lloydy go, but at 28, it's better for us.

Absolutely the right call.
He played 50 odd games in 5 years and was never gonna crack a regular spot in our team from here on.
Be nice if he got his total up to 100 games via the Bulldogs and he would be entitled to look back on a good AFL career.

Watch his last 2 years and you might get why we don't want him and the Dogs will trade him away for a junk pick.

He leaves the Tigers with a highlights reel of a good player. I'll always remember Lloydy for the the goal after the siren against the Swans, it gave me a huge buzz at the time.

Look at Lloyd in his first year and look at him in his last - very different body shapes. All you really need to know about him really - he had a go and did the best he could.

Good luck and yes he will kick goals on us in the future. Just hopefully not many.

Love ya Lloydy, we’ll miss you. Thanks for being such a great part of our club and its culture. Wishing you all the best at the Dogs

Knows how to play. Thought his best value was as a forward, but the forward line kinda outgrew him. Not sure he's an AFL-standard midfielder but should be handy for the Dogs.
