Sack Wallace Now March!!!

Nah I agree with you totally Mex, its just that we on the pessimistic side of things shouldn't be called panic mongers thats all. I dont agree with sacking wallace, in fact even if we do have a crap year he may as well see out his last year. If last nights effort is indicative of things to come though, Wallace is gone sooner or later. But he knows this.

Thanks by the way on the avatar, its Milla Jovovich.

Can't believe this thread generated so many responses. 3 pages now. But I guess it's no surprises that the feral eat our own types are trying to turn this into a serious debate on Wallace's tenure.

Sick of all the Cousins Hype and feel good Punt Rd stories!!!
All its doing is deflecting the heat on Wallace.
Getting flogged as per usual and goaless after half time.
Same old hasbeens in the leadership group with the only change being a year older and a year dudier!!!!
I feel for all the deluded ferals there tonite who have wasted there time and money yet again!!!

Time for Wallace to go and to see some decent Tiger news on the back pages!!!!

Ah Diggles, someone lifted a rock and out you crawled.

I quite enjoyed seeing lots of the young guys running around. Isn't that what the game really was about? Seeing Rance, Vickery, Post and Cousins spend time on the ground to give them a taste of what top level footy demands is more important than what the scoreboard shows. Sure, team structure wasn't there but we also butchered set shots for goal. I was most pleased by how hard the guys ran. Speaking with a Collingwood guy today, he claimed that they anticipated the Tiges flooding and so did the same. I did have a chuckle as it wasn't the Tiges with the ball on the wing looking up and seeing nobody. The upshot is... it's February guys, lighten up.

Great to see so much passion over a practice match.

Lets see the positives people start writing when we win.

I reckon they should extend Wallaces contract now!

For some stupid reason, we don't want to tackle the opposition. Those dimwits on Ch 10 noted that we were the worst tackling side of 2008. I can't understand why, last night when a Collingwood player would be called to play on, they would stand there for what seemed an eternity without any physical pressure from our players. We should be attacking them putting pressure on them that could possibly result in an errant kick to our advantage.

I watched the last bit of the Ess v Bris game tonight when the Lions came storming back and theyre kicking and decision making crapped all over ours....and they are just a middle of the road young side.

What promised to be a dawning of a new era at Tigerland seems to be a distant dream once again.

Admittedly it didn't look great last night but its a NAB game with lots of young players who aren't ready and won't make the best 22 (or 25 for that matter).

A greater intensity on defensive, pressuring aspects and better conversion at goal and things will look brighter.

Absolutely laughable to call for coaches head after 2nd practice match. Diggler/Laff = funny fellow/s

Gee - I can't wait for your responses in the season proper if this is how you rate a practice match. I watched the game in the 2nd half and if you ask me - our guys were just out their getting some match fitness and trying not to get injured which is a great idea as the NAB cup is not the time to peak. We see it year after year, the teams that peak now in the preseason normally runs out of puff at the latter stages of the season - we don't want that happening to us. We have some important games to win at that time if we are to make the finals.

Let's wait for the season to progress before we write our team off .... and Wallace - we need to get our full strength team on the park and blow the cobwebs away before we go sending our team to the wooden spoon. I doubt very much if what you seen in that game reflects what we have planned for the home and away season. Why show our hands now. Talk about dramatics - yes it is unfortunate that we lost a practice game but put it all in perspective please.

The Tigers will do ok this year :)

We are still 4 weeks away from the first real match and it's a bit rich to be asking for Wallace's head already.

Let's see how we are travelling after six rounds before we start calling for more bloodshed. Hasn't there been enough blood spilt in the hallowed Punt Road Oval in the past 25 or so years? And where has that gotten us?

The board in its wisdom gave Wallace 5 years to build a team after a procession of coaches who were never really given much support. As far as I can see the Tiges are a work in progress. We rose from 16th to 9th last year and our young players can only get better with experience and our older players are still at the peak of their powers. I think Tambling and McMahon aren't there just yet but they will be our future.

It was also very clever to bolster our list with a few recycled players from other clubs to help give us a little more balance in 2009. Be patient and let's put our faith in our boys and watch them repay us with finals.

We have a major sponsor, a can-do board, a professional and respected coach and football dept, and most of all we have talent to burn in our list. Give them time and support and we will again be a power.

If Wallace was to be sacked due to the teams poor performance this year I hope they don't appoint the show pony Wayne Campbell. The club will lose many supporters.

No one could say that he has not been given a fair go. 5 years in charge (for a quality coach) is enough time to make the top 4. The team should show sufficient all round skills, teamwork and desire (by round 5) to be considered up to the required level. For me, that will be the crucial point of Wallaces tenure.

Ah Diggles and Laff and Frawley Dud all appear after the first loss of the season.....who would've thought?

Have a look around pessimists, there are plenty of other teams butchering the ball this time of year - we are not alone! However, i do not have grand illusions of finals just yet. There needs to be a good look at the improvement of others before we can really see where the Tiges are at...... ::)

Indeed it is even though the bait isn't top quality.

I have a feeling diggler is simply going through the motions at this stage. It is only the pre-season though, can't read too much into his form yet.
