Round 6 other games

Yep. Very cocky when they are winning.
But when the chips are down, they get very, very quiet.

Just a run of a mill side.
No match winners.
Just a heap of bush footballers.
They should just be happy with just making the finals.
Fagan again was at his best with his 'stats' last night.
They got more inside 50's
They got more contested possessions.
They got more marks inside 50
And the most important stat, they got slapped on the scoreboard

It was good to see a couple of frees paid against that perennial holder Cameron. He's a massive sook and thinks every free should go his way regardless of what he has done. It showed what he was like last night when you could hear the umpire communicating with him, had a free paid against him for holding, started to complain and the ump says something like "yes you were, I was watching you doing it all the way".

He's quite a dis-likeable bloke.

Did you see him throw the ball at the Geelong players face in the first 2 minutes of the game? I really dont like the arrogance and head patting, mocking etc that their players do. Good on Rohan for showing a bit of agro.

Yeah I saw that, wasn't a great look.

Geelong have killed it, they have lost Kelly (who i reckon isn't worth a first rounder)
Gained 2 first rounders and a 2nd in return. Not bad building blocks for their future.
Menagola disappeared when Kelly arrived and now that he is gone, he is as damaging. Last night he got a 26 touches going at 82% with a bonus 2 goals.
Geelong have done really well.

Pretty accurate - Weagles completely sucked in by Geesook and Salty talking up how fanatastic a player Kelly was, enormous loss, yibbida yibbida.

Also getting all the benefits in 2020 with 3/5 HGs at their bowling alley, then another hub HG at the small SCG. All heavily in their favour which is why it was such a joy when the Bloos beat them down at their dungheap.
The shortened quarters and 17 game season is all to their advantage too. They can cramp the game up into a tight contested game, using their size and height to dominate in the air and not having to chase a speedier opposition out on to wider wings and flanks over a full length game, which would tire out their older and slower players. In this format, it's much more feasible to get a handy lead and hold onto it - whether from the 1st half or Q3 - fatigue not being such a huge factor as normal.

It's just inexplicable how so much is falling into their lap this year.

(Ablett et als' return to top form is another real bonus; even found another solid mid last night in Sam Simpson).

He’s another front runner.

Go Hawkers, a goal after the siren to win by a point would top McChins week off nicely.

Last night was the best I have seen Geelong play in years. And I was happy to see them put the lions back in their place.

Gary Ablett junior showed what a champion he is. Pure class. Amazing game. Hawkins was very good. Menagola is having a very good year. And I've never seen Gary Rohan play like that in his life.

Brisbane rolled over. Zorko is a very unlikeable character, not sure I would have him as Captain. Has any team with a *smile* as Captain ever won a flag?

Front runners like Rayner disappeared when it mattered. The turning point was when they led 32-10 and Lyons approached the 50 with free men everywhere i50 and he selfishly took a long shot instead of giving it off to somewhere in a better position. he did the old token hand up apology but Geelong got a goal from the kick in and never looked back. If he did the right thing they would have led 38-10 and it may have been too hard from there.

Yep critical misses can kill you.

We missed an easy one last week against the #godeez when George completely arsed one and then Dusty didnt take a shot when he shouldnt have either of those two goals woulda killed them off just before they took it down and got a goal then got another from a free then they had their tails up.

When you have them at your mercy you snatch the life out of the contest by converting, nothing kills a contest faster than scoreboard pressure.

Of course Daddy Long Legs needs a nice cheap free kick early on.

Geez, If Jack got frees for that sort of stuff, he'd have kicked over 1000 goals by now.

What is going on with the ground tonight? Looks like a dung heap, it is in terrible condition?!

I love the commentary after the umpires let go free kick after free kick that should have been paid against Collonwood.

‘Probably should have been a...’

‘Looked like it might have been...’

‘Was probably an unrealistic attempt given he didn’t get his hands on the ball’
