Round 5: the Today and Sunrise games.

Fisher. He’s ordinary. Has been for a long time. Move on Blues…move on.
Yep. it's amazing after all those No.1s and other high draft picks, the Silvagni years of being the GWS seconds, they have ended up with the likes of Plowman and Fisher as near regulars.

For me Adelaide the way they play could cause some serious problems for many sides.

They are tough, have speed across the ground and their forward if they spend most of the year injury free will kick big scores.

Their backline is a concern hence we got back into the game when we played them 2 weeks ago.

They will not be a pushover.

Carlton = Putrid. No leg speed. Apart from McKay & Curnow they don’t have enough of a spread of goal kickers.

Great morning.

Damn I am glad the Carlton suckfest is over.

Crows i50m work extremely impressive. We should take notes.
Yep they were very clinical and efficient going inside 50. The complete opposite to the dog's breakfast that we deliver to our forwards every week.

Strange season so far. Our win against the Crows now looks very impressive but on the flip side the way we blew the win against Scumton now looks even more frustrating. Very erratic are the Tigers so far this season.

Crows are going to be hard to beat over there. They've got a few stars but some pretty decent role players - Murphy is a great rookie pick, haven't noticed him previously but is a smart player. Smith & Hinge playing well. Tex playing like 10 years ago and Fogarty no longer a fat waddler. Fogarty might be the best shot for goal in the AFL and Dawson the best field kick.

The Scumton media lovefest was laughable. An extremely luck draw against us (mainly because we can't kick) then wins against a struggling Geelong, Giants and North; those teams have won a combined 3 games. Fair dinkum..............

The Saints are similar. Reckon Scumwood will give them a reality check this weekend.

Dawson's kicking was outstanding last night; incredible. When he was at the Swans I thought he was just an outside receiver on the wing. At the Crows he seems to have developed a whole new facet to his game; inside mid who wins his own ball and uses it beautifully.

You forgot the extra player they have in forward line masquerading as an ump
Giving easy frees to Curnow or McKay
if it wasn’t for the easy run they get from umps they’d get smashed every week

The Crows have several outstanding kicks. Dawson, Rachele, Walker, Fogarty, Jones (best game of his career last night), Rankine, Smith, Hinge, to name a few.

Crows look good. Scholl very underrated player apart from those already mentioned. Dawson one of the most dominant and imposing players in the comp ATM.

The Crows of 2023 remind me of the Swans of 2021. The raft of emerging youth and the urgent football.

Rachele is really something. Watch his first quarter against GWS earlier in the year. Match winner.

Soligo is a real footballer. Wins in close then makes space. Can use. But nothing of him and looks young for his years.

Rankine is less mature than the other pair but fitter. So he still has lots of improvement too.

Dawson is working more inside and as at R5 2023 is a champion. R5 is latish in Phoney Season.

Laird was the most underrated player in the game a few weeks ago.

I haven’t made up my mind about Berry but that he is the best Berry.

That is a midfield squad for the future.

The Thilth was running under the ball again when he wasn’t running away from it. That’s an improvement - he usually doesn’t like to run. But he has been blossoming this season and will be something IMO. Much smarter than Rowan Marshall and more talented at the same age. He is a unicorn - a forward/ruck. But gets tough love from the emerging Nicks. Fogarty is blooming. Walker plays a role and still has golden slippers.

Keays is a really interesting type. Hard-running extra mid licensed to goal. I’m not sold but I trust Nicks.

Murray will make a Broad type back in time. Usually better with the ball and inclined to take risks in breaking lines in the corridor. But they are playing him tall atm. But they have to as Butts (who looked better last night) is usually an imbecile.

Doedee does what he does. He plays like a more aerial Tom Stewart. He or Murray should switch into a fourth back role over time. Like.

Hinge looks a comer.

O’Reilly will do as a ruck.

They have the guts of a side here.

Running Totals -

McKay 7 free kicks, Curnow 5
Lynch 2, Riewoldt 2

Nothing to read here, move on :censored:

(White jumpers seem to help them, reckon it might be time we go to the Yellow & Black aka the 2017 GF tops, helped that day too - Tiges 24, Adelaide 19 frees)
