Round 4: the root canal games.

Despite previous antics, I don't think Pickett should be suspended for that. Contact was minimal, even less than Bakes last week. It's a contact sport ffs. Where are we going here?
You're joking. It's not and never has been a contact to the head sport. He raised his forearm and launched into the bloke's head. That's never been allowed. We will lose nothing except old players with brain damage by stamping out this kind of gutless sniping.

Essendon have the wrong game style to be successful. They over possess the ball and amass enormous levels of uncontested possessions.
Merrett, Heppel, parish, Martin … they all get a lot of the ball but don’t really hurt you.
What are you talking about! Zac Merrett is a seven-time All Home And Away Supercoach Points Australian and The Best Captain In The League!

That Butters is a good player. I had him in my multi so I watched him closely all night. Possession numbers were down because he spent a lot of time on the bench (only 74% game time), but he still racked up 26 running at a disposal efficiency rate of 81%. That’s damn good given the situations he’s getting them in.

His ability to find team mates is excellent.

And to top it all off, 7 tackles.
He's a fantastic player, except for the diving. I think I described him last year as a Three-quarter Chimp.

In the spirit of Bob Dylan…

Come gather round, Bombers,
Prepare for the worst,

For out of the midfield
The Power did burst,

And though for a flag
Your poor fans do thirst,

The times they aren’t a changin’.

I maintain Port have sold the farm which will kill them over the coming years.

What they paid for Soldo, Zirk-Thatcher, Ratogolea will make them competitive but a few years down the track they wil be nothing
Rozee, Butters and Horne-Francis are a generational midfield. Port have every right selling the farm and then some to get support for those players to have a crack at a flag.

They’ve got a lot of pieces Port, but I’m not sure their KPF’s and KPD’s are good enough. In the big games, you need your Riewoldts, Lynch’s, Grimes, Rance, Broad and Dave’s measuring up.

I don’t see that with Port.

They’re average away from home too.

I agree but Ratogolea, Zirk Thatcher and Soldo won't be good enough. They are B and C graders.

Adrian Dodoro must be mighty proud of the list he has put together....
Frankly we are better placed to win a flag even today, than they are.
I really enjoyed watching them get flogged last night and to watch a Scott brother lose is always a treasure lol

The Bombers may have sucked last night but they were the umpire’s favourites, 20 frees to Ports 9.

Nah Charles Dixon is a champion.
