Essendon have the wrong game style to be successful. They over possess the ball and amass enormous levels of uncontested possessions.

Butters, Rozee, and Horne Francis have some real toe. How many times did they burst out from the centre square which resulted in goals.
That Butters is a good player. I had him in my multi so I watched him closely all night. Possession numbers were down because he spent a lot of time on the bench (only 74% game time), but he still racked up 26 running at a disposal efficiency rate of 81%. That’s damn good given the situations he’s getting them in.
His ability to find team mates is excellent.
