Round 2: the emptying the dishwasher games.

While I think that the Saints do indeed have a good crop of young players, we need to calm down with all the dynasty talk.

They only beat the Pies by 15 points and that was with the help of the umps.

You don't need everyone to be quick. They still have Steele too, he couldn't beat you to the bar if they were handing out free sherry. A handful of quick players and elite kicks and their ball movement has gone quantum.
That's not the point. The point, or question is, can he still be a 'Flying' Burrito if he's not quick ? That's the question.

Personally, I think he's more a Puffing Billy Burrito.

Absolutely. See this all the time on PRE.

St. Failure are 1-1 after 2 rounds and they're suddenly the 1980's Boston Celtics.

Sam Taylor will see flags on the horizon at GWS. They should be eyeing off the excess Footscray talls. (So should we.)

yes but you think saints would have more cap room than Giants?

plus Sam and his manager and family are human - experience success and deliver a relentlessly unlucky, exceedingly romantic club, from evil and occupy a unique place in history in a cultural epicentre;

or maybe deliver some product to a soulless franchise in shitsville in front of 5000 weird people.

you're familiar with Mitch Owens; could he play an undersized CHB? could JUH play CHB?

Free kick count lopsided lol , welcome to being Richmond!

Seems the AFL has made up its mind that Collingwood don't go back to back.

Call me cynical but is it about time for that long overdue second Saints flag?

I take the point, but it was the nature of the win;

lead by fast, skilled kids. spearheaded by King doing a very good tom Lynch impersonation, a ruckman making a stong AA case and a very serviceable unlikely bottom 6 playing roles., Liam Stocker in a BP the example

on the G, in front of 70K, Pies lucid pre-death 10 minutes late

they're only a 25 yo CHB and a couple of depth role players away from contention.

I'm withe Eric bana - 2 flags in the next 5 years

We really need those useless Bogelaide Crows to step up to the plate tonight and beat Geesuck.

Geesuck - the AFL’s favourite club - have, as you’d expect, a very soft draw to start the year. They play Hawthorn, Dogs and Norf in their next 3.

As the AFL would be hoping, they could conceivably be 5-0 if Bogelaide don’t stand up.

the world went so topsy turkey last night with Pies being systematically degraded by the umps,

nothing is impossible now.

new world order

Had another look at the Higgins OOB goal, after a few looks and freeze frames, extremely close. If you hung a plumb-bob in line with the outside of the boundary line, the thread would touch the ball I reckon, to the naked eye in real time it looks a few inches out. surprised me, millimetre either way.

I take it back Mr Boundary Ump, I was wrr...........

someone should remind crab Mitchell his legs are for standing & possibly even running .

Cannot believe the amount of times he propels himself headfirst into opppo players legs or simply onto the ground

All of the ball must be over all of the line. Impossible to tell from the camera angle.

Before I had a look I was sure it was out, After, I'd put money on it being in by a bees appendage, or if out, so close the boundary ump is off the hook.

You know, I had the words 'dynasty' and St Kilda in my head literally 10 minutes ago. But the thought was, they're St Kilda, they'll *smile* it up. They couldn't even win a flag with Plugger, Harvey, Winmar, Loewe, Burke, McAdam, Spud, et al. Or with St Nick and the gang - one great home and away season, a tough GF loss and they fell away. If they win one - which I would love to see- they'll have a hangover for 50 years.
What's with all the St.Kilda love? The shittest club in AFL/VFL history. I couldn't give a *smile* if they didn't win a flag for another 500 years. The only time I'd ever hope they win one is if they're playing Scumwood, Carlcheat, Drugendon or Geewhinge.

As for their list; yes look to have some good youngsters but that's what happens when you are perenially rubbish. Get access to high draft picks. I like Owens, Windhager was fantastic last night, young Wilson looks very good. Milera starred last night and he uses the ball beautifully. But he gets wider than Brad Hill.

Let's see how they go under some real heat if they get to finals. Reckon the 2 Sydney teams will give them a real workover. And remember; they have Riley Bonner who singlehandedly kept Scumwood in the game last night.

But credit to them it was a very good win. Really should've won by more.

Can't speak for anyone else but I've always had a soft spot for them (apart from the Grant Thomas lack of respect era). Plugger and Winmar were huge favourites of mine as a kid. As an adult I lived in St Kilda/Elwood/Windsor/Prahran for around a decade.

Much prefer them to win one than Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Geelong, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Norf, Footscray, Brisbane, Poort, West Coast, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sydney. Would be equally happy to see Freo win one, and wouldn't mind if the Giants won it.
