Round 2 - Other Games

The worse thing is, if the umpires had just learnt to pay the HTB/incorrect disposal rule properly, we wouldn’t have needed the stand the mark rule. So many times, the influx of players to stoppages is a direct result of umpires not paying the free kick.
The AFL do everything the hard way.

The freeze on the mark rule is so *smile*.

problem is the commentators and AFL think it’s great and brought old style footy back. It’s fundamentally changed the game. For the worse IMO. It looks ridiculous and causes more confusion and creates an unprecedented restriction on players.

Used to have a soft spot for the cats when GA snr played and had one with the lions for beating Ess & Collingwood for flags..... now I can't stand either of them with a passion, which is probably more linked to my disdain for Scott and Dangerfield..... and *smile* Zorko does my head in with some of his antics, which filters down to a bunch of 'getting ahead of themselves' teammates.

Hated Selwood and his throw last night, but to add a bit of balance to the conversation, Geelong supporters were probably doing what we did when Dustin basically threw it to Jack a couple of years ago.... pissing themselves laughing.
Upto the umps to get their act together!

Fagan - a tough and hard game? It was full of cheap shots, staging and sniping??

And Pagan referenced the Richmond final as if last nights game was tougher? He never misses an opportunity to sleight the tigers.

perspective - Dusty isn’t a serial thrower or ducker like Selwood is - the number of times I have seen Dusty throw it you can count on one hand, whereas Selwood, he ducks and throws that many per game it’s not funny, his ducking has resulted in a change to the interpretation of high tackles - perspective

Plus we were 8 goals up at the time. Obviously the umpire should have picked it up and paid a free but hardly a game influencing mistake like those that handed Geewhinge the game last night.

This bloke's weaker minded than we think. At least Dimma gives the journos a sarcastic hint during the presser. Only indirect way to do it without being fined by Gil's Gestapo.

Under pressure, Brisbane are getting defensive and referencing the past to convince people their current performance isn’t accurate.

That’s great for us

Beginning of the end for Geelong. Kids are *smile*. Old codgers so past it they resort to desperate cheating and sniping. Team can't run out a quarter let alone a game.

And all encapsulated in their idiot coach who thinks it is acceptable to get into a verbal exchange with the opposition players at half time.

Dusty does not constantly stage for frees
Dusty does not constantly whinge to the umps.
Dustys focus is exclusively on the ball

Selwood is tarnishing his legacy

Selwood's slowed down noticeably the past couple of years. Use of his special technique is only going to increase. The late sling on the Brisbane player who wasn't resisting was classic grumpy old footballer.

I've noticed over the last couple of years that Selwood has become a lot more strategic with his cheating. He used to do it pretty much all the time, but it was getting too much attention. Now he saves it for key moments in close games. Last night I knew it was going to happen before it did. His cheating won them the game.

His head throwing back on The wing was ridiculous. What odds of a staging charge.
