Round 18 - Last Round for the losers

Huge game tonight. Will have a big bearing on our finals run.

Port win and we can play all our finals at the gabba if we remain unbeaten.

Also consigns pies to play Eagles in Perth and out in straight sets.

2 first rounders for Dylan Sheild. Unbelievable.
For a bloke that played 90% of the season, in a really ordinary side.
The best he could do is 10th in the B&F.
That's why kids never, ever give away 2 first rounders for no one

Huge game
We can go from not moving again and playing an opponent that we have slapped the last 10 years.
It's no different when Sheedy let us win in round 22 2001 and slapped us the week after.
Im barracking for the mighty power tonight.
Rather give the Adelaide oval a miss

If Port tank this, they aren't winning any flag. If they did, I would hope we'd be motivated to end the careers of Gray, Westhoff, Boak etc in disappointment.

I dont think Port will intentionally tank, BUT they have very little to motivate them to win.

Whereas a Collingwood win sees them avoid West coast in Perth.

I expect Collingwood to be way more motivated than Port tonight.

I think Port would rather play the Cats than us in the first final.

Footscary got slapped in round 23 2016 and they still won it.
I don't think Hinkley wants to play Geelong

Hinkley knows we had our second string midfield in that last game and we still nearly beat them. We now have Houli, DTLD, Cotchin, and maybe Prestia back in the side. We also have Graham/Bolton/Ross in great form. They smashed us in the contested ball in that game and he knows that won't happen again.

Even though Port got spanked by the Cats (in Queensland) and they beat us. I'm pretty sure the coach and their brainstrust are aware they beat a second string Tigers outfit and are aware we are a much different proposition this time around. Whereas the Cats are looking a bit wonky at the moment. Pretty sure they will go all out to win tonight and even though the Pies might have some extra motivation i still dont think they're good enough. Their form has been ordinary.

This season is crazy so who knows what will happen tonight... but I can't see Port playing soft. They'll also want to beat a contender in Queensland, as the GF will be here.

Agree - they are on their home deck and I can’t see them easing up on the pies (without Howe and Sidebottom)
Pies got DeGooy and Treloar back last match. The former is almost their entire FL. Along with that superstar, Big Cox, who has really hit form at the right time of the year for AFL legends!!

But, if Poort cannot beat them tonight in Qld, they can forget any flag dream.

No outcry over the free kick against Hawkins?

I reckon if that was against Riewoldt the internet would be broken from all the posting. :p
But then it would have been pointed out he infringed by jumping early and landing before he marked it. Simple free.

No way would they want to play us. They know they cannot beat us again this year and can only hope someone else knocks us out. They'll beat a slow cats side though and get a home prelim. They'll be busting a gut to win tonight.

I hate that joint

Port will want to finish on top. Especially securing that in front of a home crowd against the team that's stopping them from wearing their traditional jumpers. You also want to enter the finals on a win to keep the momentum going.

Port will be up and about tonight.
