Round 18 - Last Round for the losers

Well the cats didn’t exactly set the world on fire. They only started looking good when Sydney got looser in the second half.

Thanks for nothing Papley.

Geez they've been bigging the Cats up, 11 out of the last 14 seasons they've been in finals. Ok thats a good record, but how many premierships again?? Pretty sure we've won as many in the last 3 years.

You can't deny Geelong had an extremely good side for a long time. And they've never really thrown seasons to get high draft picks. But it's very enjoyable having the wood over them the last few years, especially the finals against them.

Geelong blur killer instinct (which i believe they have little of ) with foul tactics.
Cannot stand them or their appalling coach.

Noticed that as well. 2 garbage kicks in a row. Wasn't he touted as an elite kick when they picked him, both were under no pressure whatsoever.

I gave him a pass on the first one, when he held onto it 1 step to many but his 2nd one was disgraceful.

It always happens to me all the time, when i want someone to kick a goal it always ends up in some duds hands.

15m and didn't make the difference.

The first one was just as bad though, missed his player by miles.

Bit like that one from Clarke, 3 Geelong defenders back, 2 one on ones and a loose in the middle, kicks straight to the loose.

Dog act. Super dangerous.

I have resisted the urge to join social media, so dont have a Twitter or Facebook account.

But I dont understand why supporters of all other clubs who post on Big footy, or on this forum, or other forums, dont send tweets with the videos/images of each of the dirty push in the backs from Hawkins. They all comment on his dirty tactics, but why arent those tweets and videos sent to all the media and journos. Many of them wont ignore it if all fans make a big deal of it!

Hawkins at it again. How can the AFL allow this dangerous act to continue?

If there is any integrity at all at AFL level, this must be investigated as soon as possible. Carcrash injury to Soldo last week and he is doing it again. Hawkins is an absolute disgrace. This is a deliberate and malicious act with only one outcome. Three umpires and no whistle. Incident not seen. But, with the replays of this action clearly showing no regard for other players' safety.
Cowardly and highly dangerous act.
Where are you now Michael Christian?
Hawkins has now stamped his papers and this will be his new identity.

But if you want more consistency, and I know you do, then that's the logical way to do it. Don't ask the umpire to judge pressure or skill errors or be a mind reader as to a player's intention.

Make it black and white. Did the ball go out of bounds? Yes/No. Did they have a legitimate other option? Yes/No. Less complicated means a better chance of consistency.

I understand where you are coming from but while being flung in a tackle?

I don't think it is too difficult to work out when a player is being flung around and has little control over where the ball is going. On the evidence of what I have seen it might be too hard for the umpires though.

No outcry over the free kick against Hawkins?

I reckon if that was against Riewoldt the internet would be broken from all the posting. :p

No outcry from me. I have this strange notion that kicking someone in the head while not actually going for the mark should be a free kick. Just me I suppose.
