Round 17 - the stuck in Dubbo airport games.

Footscary proves a strong midfield isn't the answer, you need to stop goals too.
They will have to unleash a few, to get at least 2 defenders and another forward to help Naughton.

i guess i am looking longer term

if we finish on 14 wins and sydney on 15 because of tonights win, i dont think that is meh

This is correct.

Look at our run home, we will make finals, nothing more certain.

We should be death-riding teams above us, not below us.

It's where you finish after the last round that counts, not where you are in round 16.

Big name midfield, who only run one way.

Where are their Lamberts, Picketts, McIntoshes, Riolis and even Castagnas (don't see Weightman running up and back all game), who get back to help their defenders, then get forward and kick goals.

With games against GC in GC, the Dockers, the Lions and Port at Adelaide Oval I’m not subscribing to the “nothing more certain” that we’ll play finals.

Possible, but certain is way over the top for me.

You eliminate the competition first before worrying about top 4 and such - especially when you’ve lost 6 games to date and have a lot of teams around you at the bottom end of the 8.

I think we’ll win today and if we do, I’ll shift to more of a position outlook, but not before we do that’s for sure.

More chance to win the flag with the double chance than from outside the top four though. Almost impossible from 5th-8th based on history.

So making finals almost pointless if you are 5-8. Unless a building team and getting finals experience.

We may be an exception if we get our best team on the park with some continuity for finals though. Although could our team last through four final matches without some hammy tweaks?

Who knows. But you’ve actually gotta MAKE the finals first.

That’s how I think Roar too that finishing 5-8 will make playing three finals to get to the GF will be tough on this group.

Unless 2 or so make from the VFL side can make a claim just like a Townsend did in 17 I can’t see it from outside the top 4.

We may come to rue the losses against the Swans and the Cats.

The love in for Scott is pathetic.
Media dubbing him the master coach after beating Melbourne.
Freo, swans, pies knock off Melbourne, nothing.
Geeelong beat Melbourne on their home turf and Scott is labeled the best tactical coach in the league.
Why is the media sucking Scott off?
Is his *smile* made from gummi bears?

Scott's masterful tactic is to take out the best players from the opposition any way possible.

Ginnavan absolutely disgusting, always searching for a high tackle.

Umps have missed about 3 frees to North

They pay high on gilligivan but Larkey gets front on contact to the head and its holding the ball against him.
King is right if isn't high it should be holding the ball
