Round 15: the sinus infection games.

Wanna make money?? Get some on the Weagles next week at their home against the Aints. Especially as the club has released a statement on their performance. Gotta feel this will be a huge kick in the butt and get them moving next game......luckily not against us.

Kelli Underwood really should provide a lot of confidence to women wanting to further themselves in footy. She is proof that you don't actually need to be good at anything, but you get a job because you are a woman!!

Seriously she is awful and is actually detrimental IMO for women in the sport. Other women like Kath Loughnan and Daisy Pearce add insight and value, Kelli offers none of that and gets as much wrong as BT (if not even more!).
Who can forget when she was calling a Giants game and forgot what they were called referred to them as the orange team

Jobe Watson gets a job because he is a man?

Don’t think so Tiger force. They basically have noone to pick from and had only 3-4 players playing WAFL this weekend.
I’m expecting them to do better and have a crack but they won’t win

Simpons presser. Incredible, contradictory, incoherent, cliched jibberish. Why was he signed and regardless, why hasn't he been sacked? I don't understand
I think the AFL will force the clubs hand at some point.
Should be interesting. He has 2 years left on his contract apparently. The AFL introduced a cap on coaching panels. If he’s sacked his contract comes out of that the next 2 years. They will have to get a senior coach on the very cheap.
or the AFL can do what they usually do and only enforce their rules when it suits them

Media was on Simpson taking a holiday. Reckon Dimma was spot on. Players were tired of hearing the same voice. Reckon give him a break if they want him next year. Get someone else to try and motivate. His sausage has no sizzle.

I think nick daicos might be as good with rules and umpire assertiveness,

As he is with a footy.

The vision i saw, it was like the umpire was under his selwood-like control

He gestured to the ump to blow the whistle, follow me, and explain to all them why its 50.

Its a bit of a knack that certain champs have

Its a very handy skill on a footy field.

Wish i could back him for 3 brownlows

Ashcrofts got it too
He's the best footballer in Oz. Crowned. There I said it.

Gee the Suns have some great young players on their list. If the somehow manage to keep that team together they will be a serios threat in a couple of years.

Reckon I’ve heard that said about the suns every three years since their inception.

Believe it when I see it.

Great point. Jobe is considerably more hopeless than Kelli.
I've heard lots of people say they turn the volume down to follow the footy on TV.

I've never done it. Persisted through Brian Taylor's affected enthusiasm and inanity, Bruce's 'You just feels...', Richo's football for dummies instructionals on how to see exactly what's in front of you, and Brayshaw's primal screeching, but I just can't with Watson.

He has the personality of a jar of mayonnaise on horse tranquilisers, and the perspicacity of a horse with a mouth full of mayonnaise.

You would get more insight from the audio descriptions for the vision impaired. And at least they wouldn't trail along behind a thought only to be interrupted by their own syntax.

It shouldn't take 3 and a half minutes to say that it's slippery when it's raining.

I genuinely get more coherence from the collective harmonies of the grog squad at the game than I do from his commentary during the replay.

Nepotism is a powerful force.

The volume has finally been switched off.

The deplorable standard of commentary, be it by full time media “professionals” (use that term lightly) or ex-players, never fails to amaze me. And the same goes for general footy shows as well.

Embarrassing.

I reckon the crows were robbed blind. Collingwood gifted 2 goals and you could make a strong argument Adelaide robbed of 2 in the last Q. Final margin under a goal. Used to be I thought the umps had a big say in the outcome once or twice a season, seems to be a lot now.

That one was a regulation robbery, but not surprised anymore.

Wanker Whateley and David King debating on Dicky Naicos virtually begging for a free in the last quarter is amazing. Just shows how vulnerable these flogs are.

I understand its ridiculous, but I reckon we'd actually be better off if there was an AFL roulette wheel entitled 'What we'll be paying 50m for this round'; stand, protected area, whatever the one Daicos got was for, coming from behind the play to get on the mark (which Daicos did to a Crows player in the last Q), kicking the ball away etc etc. It would have 2 benefits, focus the umps, because I just don't think its possible for them to administer all of them properly and consistently, and inform the clubs and players, and increase transparency. Spin the wheel, whatever it lands on is the 50m penalty focus that week.

Absolutely they were Snakes Alive. Right from the very first few minutes. Soft, pathetic frees galore to Cwood…blind eye approach to the Crows, the head high on Dawson in the last seconds the final insult.

And yes, this is a regular occurrence - especially for Richmond.

The Cwood fans were screaming their guts out all game long for free kicks - and they got them. The last quarter, I reckon they were going nuts every 15-20 seconds for a free. Give them credit, they put the pressure on like no other fan base. And the umpires capitulate. Wish we had that sort of venom in the stands.

Didn't help last week.

I have started to notice a shift in how our supporters are getting louder at games.

I think we have digested the full bellies of premiership success and are starting to get that hunger back.
