Round 14....... Them Other Games

Dogs were out on the legs but geez there was some stupid decisions from them late. They'll rue this loss.

As for the cats crap they get away with some throws. In a close game it really is unfair and must break the spirit of the opposition.

They will make it hard for us if Salty goes for an uber flood. We’re better but we struggle with the flood.
Beveridge is a smart coach and he may have shown a way of combating the uber flood this game. You have to go back and look at Q1 to see how his side got 5/6 goals up - should have been 8 but for Dud efforts from Bruce and Dunkley - would have been game over.

They played hard, attacking football by winning it out of the centre. Got it in deep; fought hard to get possession after marking spoils; hand-balled back out, away from their own goal - but crucially away from the horde of Moggs defenders that swarm back to the hotspot.
You find one of yours running forward again into the F50 towards your goal who takes a much less pressured shot, away from the scrimmages, from around 40-45m out.
It worked well. So for us, once Astbury is back to play FB on Hawkins, you have Balta, Short, Houli or Dusty across HB cutting in to the F50 for the shot on goal. But ground-ball forwards such as Aarts, Rioli and Castgna have to get the ball after the out-numbering defenders execute their spoils to run it out by handballs.

Did I catch Tomahawk belting a bloke in the guts and double him over while his teammate marked a ball?

just flashed over the bottom of the screen.

I couldn't be sure,

cause there was no replay or commentary whatsoever,

just a Footscray bloke curled up looking crook?

the commentators and producers must have thought he copped a bad souvlaki at half time?
The Bulldogs player took a dive. I rewound to have another look.

Daisy is on ok only special comments person. It is not PC to criticise her though. She annoyed me when she didn't know the dropping the ball rule when a player takes a bounce and is tackled.

They really lost their way quickly I thought. Once the Cats clamps went on they were bereft of ideas. Tried possession footy and that didn't work. Seem to lack a bit of on all class. Anyway they will have the teenage markologist Ugle-Hagan next year.
As for the Cats, try chucking a Q away against us see what happens.

Omg, how many throws do the cats get away with!!! That 3rd quarter was diabolical. Throw throw throw throw then the first time it happened to Doggies they get pinged! Does Incorrect Disposal even exist?

They might have to throw him down back. I think they’ll be trying to off load him by year 2 or 3.

I like Daisy, too. She provides some genuine insight.
Totally agree, she got ignored a bit last night I felt . I might be on my own , however Bruce was excruciating, kept flicking over to We are Marshall ( great movie) to avoid listening to his childish over the top enthusiasm and ffs Bruse we know you get a lot of feelings through a game of footy.

Didn't really matter to us whether Geelong won last night or not in a way.
As long as both win their other games as expected (we play Freo and Adelaide and they play Sydney and Essendon) we will finish above Geelong if we beat them and below them if we don't.
