Round 14: the badly poured beer games.

Said it once and I'll say it again - how the hell can the umpires of the peak tier of competition for a sporting code only be part-time employees? It's farcical.
I don’t disagree with your point principally, however I feel that plenty of the frees are paid just because they want to, or don’t want to, and not due to incompetence.

If I can see a player dropping their knees whilst lifting their arm to manufacture a free kick from 10 rows back then an umpire 2 metres away should be able to pick it.

If I can see a forward being bear hugged from 10 rows back one of the 4 umpires should be able to see it, and a don’t believe that they aren’t.

North spewing this Bailey Scott non 50 metre penalty wasn’t against Richmond, would’ve definitely been a 50.

It would have been a 100 metre penalty.

50 metres for each player over the mark.

And maybe they would have thrown another 50 in, like one of those 'buy 2 get 1 free' deals.

If would be reviewed and he would have been well over the goal line. “Self” rushed behind only

Part timers who get paid in excess of $100,000 a year. Some of them have refused to go full time because when they combine their umpiring salary with the salary from their full time job they’re really raking it in.

Total opposite of what actually happened. They ran over the mark anticipating he would play on, but he hadn't and the ump hasn't called play on. Thats why the rule is there! Truly amazing
So this. Cannot argue anything else. Very easy one to adjudicate. What will Steve Twerpbuney say?

Just another pilgrimage to the club that was done harshly, bar us.

He can stop over at Arden St on the way to his weekly catchup with Chris Scott.

New rule book will be printed with the Common Sense Rule coming within Laura Loopholes “grey areas”

I assume this is sarcasm. To do the above would almost resemble transparency. Transparency and the AFL do not mix.
