Well, he did actually more than double the output from our dedicated forwards solo (as distinct from mids' goals). Handy player who was a measure of how out-of-form we were at the time.
I don't remember cork stops, but I do recall leather stops with nails in them. I also remember trying to fit them in to the same part of the boots leather sole for the 4tth or 5th time & having trouble because there were too many holes
