Robin Nahas

He has? Where? ;D
He's put on 7kg since he was drafted, perhaps not that much but given he only weighed 60kg when drafted that's about a 12% increase of his body weight

Robin himself has said at times he hasn't been the hardest worker on the track.
Did he really say that?

When you’re a lightweight midget you’d be expected to work harder than most to make it.

I can see what Dimma is trying to do with Nahas. Not too many small specialist forward pockets out there who can't run on the ball for small periods unless they are exceptional. If Robin's to survive he'll need to show he's capable of that. So far he hasn't really..

Ur a great student of the the game - so don't you see it more as work in progess than Dimma waving his magic wand. I really like that fact that Hardwick has said, judge me on what I can do with the listed guys as much as the new guys - that shows a real preparedness to roll up the sleeves and work, work, work. I see Nahas as just that. It's not working yet, but it's work, work, work!

Problem will little Naha's if he does baulk up he'll lose his leg speed.
If he doesn't he'll keep getting crunched.

Too small for AFL.

Eddie Betts is 173cm, Leon Davis is 177cm , Stephen Milne is 178cm, Matthew Stokes is 177cm & Nahas is 176cm .
Cant see how Nahas is too small to play in the AFL.

All of those players weigh significantly more than Nahas. Could be argued too that Betts, Davis and Milne have better skills than Nahas which makes up for their height. That's the problem for Nahas along with his weight IMO. For someone so small his decision making, skill, goal sense, etc are all average.

True and how many years have they been in the system?
Remember this is only Nahas 2nd year

Yeh, I'm with you BT.

The kid is in his second yaer with us and we have bigger hacks to fry this season.

Happy to give him this season and next to make or break.

Hardly a list clogger at this stage.

I like Nahas. Seems to have a bit of footy nous. Don't agree on the knock on his skills - they're more than acceptable. He and Nason will be good players with time and the right development.

Indeed,

I still think Robin just needs smoothing of the edges. He has pace, he's a great tackler and whilst his goal-sense isnt always switched he is dangerous around goals.

I have never really believed this line of thinking 7. Sure it is a physical game, but if players have other attributes, then that can help them be very productive players. I do agree that you would always take the bigger player if you were choosing between two similar players.

But to generalise like this is not the right way to go IMO.

The great game we once new is changing now - your not allowed to bang & crash people, so you don't have to be such a physical presence.
Nahas is skilled compared to some others in our team and he has footy smarts IMO

Don't mind Nahas at all pharacio. Not convinced he'll make it but a long way from writing him off that's for sure because he clearly has some ability.
We'll see how Dimma's WIP on Rockin Robin progresses..

he needs to learn how to draw free kicks by moving his body ala Selwood. at this stage he's too easily bumped off the ball and rarely receives free kicks for a player his size. could take some acting lessons from the crows and bombers little players too!

Should have made my self more clear. In small i meant in weight. Way to skinny for AFL.
Needs bulking up.

One thing that doesn't help Nahas... are the dipsticks in our team that do hospital kicks above his head.

I feel sorry for Nahas at those times when his team mates don't consider his height.

:-[

Nahas was played just where he should be today in the forward 50.
His application was exceptional especially the pressure he put on the backmen.

Great opportunist game by Nachos. Agree forward pocket is the possie and we should not try and get all fancy with him

Delist. Has no awareness, has been tried playing up the ground and is too slow, he can't kick more than 40 metres.
