Rnd 17 other games.

Not sure where to put this but I saw Swans have had 4 Rising Star nominations this year. don't know track record of nominations leading to say 10 year careers but they have rebuilt quickly.

I really enjoyed North's win. Fantastic win away against eagles, crowd and ups. Just a reminder of where we sit after losing to the eagles.
such a good game to watch - a step back in time - no unnecessary short passing, free flowing, contested ball & marking...hardness everywhere.
north have a great blend of physicality & run... r21 could be dark

Eagles don’t have 9 of their 22 out injured or much of any other excuse. Home game, big crowd, draft tampered talent, great facilities, massive advantage. Figjam club, how crap would you feel being an eagles supporter?

For players not on a list this year (AFL careers presumably complete) who debuted while eligible

under 10 eligible games, not nominated
avg career games: 29.6
100 games: 10.0%
200 games: 2.5%

10+ eligible games, not nominated
avg career games: 92.9
100 games: 36.7%
200 games: 14.9%

nominated
avg career games: 155.1
100 games: 65.0%
200 games: 34.5%

Best to get nominated, but if you don't it's better to play early games.

I know it was a Monday night, crappy weather and West Coast are out of form. But 30K to an unrestricted Eagles home game at Optus is unheard-of.

It helps when a non football state gets all of sudden the selection of the best kids in the most populated state in the country.
Mills and Heeney are top 3 picks in any draft. But you could still end up with a kid like Blakey

Norths form reversal can be put down to having there backline back up and running.

Any other sides we know of missing key personnel from there backline?

Noble's strategy of putting his best/most experienced players behind the ball (Ziebell, Walker, Tarrant, Hall, McDonald, etc) and his kids in front of the ball is bearing fruit. Smart cookie, that bloke. North will improve quickly. Buying stock.

Tarrant & McDonald have given them a settled fully functioning backline.
I think a few people that have thrown the toys out of the cot need to take a look at our injury list atm.

Eagles are not up for it either by the looks of it, umps helped em over us as well as our stupidity but they have not bothered in their past two games.

Both teams have seemed to really struggle with the covid disruptions. Obviously we were able to lift last year, but we had to dig deep. Not sure whether it is two big clubs missing the crowds, the disruption to their training routines, impact of cuts to coaches, older players missing families, etc. But there is something in common between us and the eagles (maybe also Collingwood)
not covid, shortest pre season ever along with in juries that has made us nowhere near fit enough for afl .

Does Tom Green ever get out of anything but a jog to slow stride ? Just lopes around through the middle of the ground. Slow to push back.

No wonder he’s been dropped twice this year.
Green was poor again yesterday. He often looks slow and almost disinterested at times. Not sure where he is at.
