Rivals circling our Premiership heroes

You need to manage your stars out really really carefully - Jack, Cotch, Edwards are the soul of the team.

Rance has done us a favour by being the first mover (even if forced) but nonetheless allows us to buy some time with the others.

Note, I am assuming Dusty never retires cause his form never declines.

Did Dusty get a 7 year contract? Trying to remember.
He is still only in year 3 of it anyway
When he gets too old to spend too much time in the midfield we just park him forward, like they did with lethal Leigh at the end of his career

You are indeed correct, signed 7 year contract on 31/08/17 so 4 years after this year

I wouldn’t have a clue about pay structures , however I think Lynch’s pay was said to go up in his 3rd year, Dusty’s no doubt will be around the mil, interesting budgeting times.

With our back half getting a little on the older side , Broad is one player I wouldn’t want to lose, his a very good Mr fix it re types he can play on and I would imagine he’d be great for the young players coming into the side, also seems the type who could play well past 30 and a crucial thing about Punt Rd now is the fact his a great club man.

Hopefully the club has brought forward the Lynch contract payments with Rance leaving. That will open the salary cap back up in the next few years

use the money from Rance to pay Lynch and Dusty now, reducing the payment in the coming years. Gives us money to sign our younger guys up so they dont leave and potentially get a free agent with a back ended contract.

Thats how I would do it, but i'm just a guy behind a keyboard

Not sure you have to anymore, at least to the same degree. Clubs can “bank” salary cap savings to spend at a later date but not 100% sure how it works

Essendon interested in Graham, no chance of a fair deal with Dodoro , hope Jack puts in a blinder against them.

Adelaide could potentially take him for nothing in the PSD, so better to have more than one buyer if he's going to leave.
From media reports etc I would highly doubt Jack Grahamthatis would go out PSD.
Walk out badly on the club where he is a premiership hero and life member?
Not likely.

If he goes, still an if, then its in the BElly mode.
Win the flag, walk with the club,s blessing for personal benefit.
He could get significant coin, gametime and captaincy at the crows.
And still come back for premiership reunions (he aint getting them at sadelaide)

Bachar went PSD. It really comes down to the club and its opportunity to get their man, not the player involved.

yeah but Bachar clashed with Hird?, wasn’t being played and desperately wanted out plus Essendon wouldn’t trade fairly hence PSD.

that scenario is so different to Graham/tigers I would suggest

No, Hird was coming into the club that year. Knights was out the door already.

The point is that the clubs do the trade, and the player's character will have little sway in how the trade plays out. There's no reason Graham can't go through the PSD if that's how Sadelaide want to play it.

We have a very good reputation when it comes to trading players. So can’t see a team like Adelaide trying something on us.
Essendrugs on the other hand....
