Rich V Melb - Saturday, March 4, 4.10pm AEDT, Casey Fields

Lynch playing behind isn’t helping the delivery into the forward line. Young is outclassed. Dow looking good, Taranto looking great. Hopper building.

30 degree day, so I’m ok if the pace isn’t frenetic. Save that for round 1.

Yes there have been plenty of frees against, but holy crap we play dumb sometimes. Can’t blames the umps for that.

Its like we are surprised that Melbourne are good in the air at the back. They play 3 talls back there (we only have 2) but because we are allowing them to mark at will it makes it hard to lock anything in. As you say Lycnh is behind, needs to get in front. If he brings it to ground that what we have Cotchin, MRJ and Bolton for, but we cannot have them mark as easily as they have in that half.

Agree on Young - laughable that people on here were suggesting that he should play in front of Tarrant if he was fit. A no gamer, vs a near 200 gamer and it shows. He has promise but to expect a no gamer rookie to suddenly be able to defend like they expect is frankly ridiculous, and shows an element of prejudice against Tarrant who we have certainly missed today.

Dow - probably the best I've seen him play so good signs, as he's on the potential delist list this year, if he can step off that it will be good for us.
Taranto will be a gun for us an Hopper has been ok as you say.

A bit disappointed in Juddy today, expected a bit more from him.

A few players need to find a way to get themselves into this game.

Jon Ralph just confirmed Prestia will be right for R1. Also mentioned that Tarrant, Pickett and Graham will play limited minutes in VFL practice match next week. Pretty much only Gibcus missing from best available

There is not much to like about this effort. Taranto and Dow doing well but everything else is pretty meh.

Pretty sure the Demons have been doing match sims pre Christmas. They are more advanced.

and yet there are still some on here that under rate what Tarrant brings to our defence.
Tarrant whose game as you pointed out, is now based on the spoil, would do better against Gawn?
It is speculation but I can’t see it myself.
Pleasing to see Young take front position.
Pushed in the back seems to be no longer a free.

Getting sick of these hand-offs to Short or Rioli everytime we line up.
