Apparently the Westies want 2 first rounders for Taranto and a top 10 pick for Hopper....good luck with that
It's called draft picks and players swaps. What kind of trade gets Tarranto and Hopper across the line? Frankly, I can’t see how the Tigers get both done. Thoughts?
Don't need shiit from anotherWe will need another club to help us to facilitate bringing Taranto & Hopper.
Dylan Shiel for one, pick 9 and future first, but I'm sure there's more. Edit, Cerra is another. No way we give up 2 1sts for Taranto and a top 10 for Hopper. What precedent is that backed up by? Nothing.
That smacks of treating players like currency - and we don’t do that. Unless we hold the view that he won’t be a regular in the firsts in the years ahead. And I see no reason why this would be the case - unlike the situation like, say, that with Ellis. Are we that desperate that we’d trade one of our best mids for another mid?I'll bring KMac up again in this thread.

Unless GWS doesn't want Soldo ( which I heard they are very interested in,)
We trade Soldo and use that pick to polish off the other 4 picks on offer for these 2
Deal down
Just get ready for the sooking to begin

Anyone that enters punt Rd never wants to go any where else.Herald sun footy podcast. Sam Landsberger did say Hopper and Taranto will come to Richmond and Geelong has accepted they have missed out on Hopper.

We would need to find a player of ours who would like to live in Sydney.
I keep bringing up Kingsley because he has to be the middleman in all of these discussions.Castagna Collier Dawkins Dow Short

Given that there is some cap incentive for GWS to do the trade, and if they both want to come to us, and we can make the deal smooth, we might get a bit of a 2 for 1 discount. But putting that aside, IMO TT is worth a top 5 pick or 2 later first round picks, easy the latter, and Hopper say pick 6 to 12 or a double pick equivalent.
The 2 firsts for TT part is reasonable and doable right now. The top 10 for Hopper is a reasonable opening bid for GWS, we'd counter, but it wouldn't be far away. If say pick 10-15 would do it, we'd have to trade a player, to GWS or elsewhere, to get it done. Or, if we can swing a 2 for 1 discount, 12, 19 or future first, and 30 or future second, and perhaps a steak knives player.
On the first point, definitely. To say '2 firsts' in isolation with no context is a pointless misnomer. As I've said elsewhere, statistically, there is a signifcant gap between top 5 and 6 to 10 both in terms of likelihood of a pick being succcessfull and the quality of the player, and light years between top 5 and 11 to 18.Again it comes down to value. 2 firsts is very subjective. Is that 2 pick 1's or 2 pick 18's.
Hill a future 2nd for the Pies maybe?
Bruhn, Pick 36 and a future 2nd from Geelong?
We want to win the premiership, Olds. Why would we trade half of the best wing combo in the comp, when wongers are so important on the G?I'll bring KMac up again in this thread.

Fraught with danger that trade. Kapsie is a “heart and soul” member of the team. Besides he’s been playing great footy for us and has zero injury history.I'll bring KMac up again in this thread.

On your examples, there are complicating factors with Hill, and Bruhn is not TT by any stretch. And you have conveniently ignored my Shiel and Cerra examples
He actually did have a calf issue this year. Very taxing role physically as we have seen with Lambert but I hear you.Fraught with danger that trade. Kapsie is a “heart and soul” member of the team. Besides he’s been playing great footy for us and has zero injury history.

Plus, forcing out loved players to bring in outsiders is a short cut to Riftsville.
