Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

So can we trade this pick? Doesn't free agency run until the trade period ends?

Serious question.

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

Been a bit disappointing as a number 6 draft pick tbh. Good clubman but never made the step to FT midfielder & ended up just filling flank roles. Wish him well but definitely replaceable & I won't miss his 9 iron kicks.

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

We got an end of second round pick for Conca! Ya jokin!

Shame it's going to be lost to Lynch, that's overs for Reece.

Played in Richmond's best 22 for the Prelim and Freo offering a 3 year deal an END of 2nd round pick is hardly overs.

As for losing it, effectively Lynch for Conca, winner winner chicken dinner!

Good luck Reece.

I for one am a little peeved that Conca is going. Not so much that he is going as I realise the benefits but thinking why didn't he go last year so the club actually got something for him?

We have stuck by him over the years when he was injured and I understand that it is best for us to have him off the list but I would have liked him to consider the club with his move.

Just my opinion and I know we get Lynch in return but that is not my point. I want it all!
He wanted to play in the premiership team in the last year of his contract I suspect

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

A little frustrating. We stuck with him for so long. He took a while to develop and had a lot of setbacks along the way and after all this time when he cements his spot in team he leaves.

Brandon Ellis will probably be relieved, I think he stays and comes back in for Conca.

Conca got offered 2 years v 3 years and probably a lot more money per season at Freo (probably 50%+)

Can’t blame him for leaving. I think a lot of players would have left in this situation.

A lot of players would have stayed though. It’s so hard to win a Premiership and we go in next season as favourites. He’s moving to a team down the other end of the ladder.

Can we trade it before it's wiped?

;D

weird loophole. surely there is a rule in place that bans the trading of FA compo picks until the FA period closes?

Free Agency closes before trading starts so will already be wiped, Madd-Tiggy was just taking the *smile*!

I was wondering why this thread hasn't got narky. ;D

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

All the best Concs. Hopefully no more injuries for him at Freo.

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

Good luck cuddles. Thanks for the memories. Obviously a very popular clubman.

Sucked in to him ;D

Oh, wait on... :(

Re: Reece Conca - Going, Going,

We get pick 36 as compo which gets us back into the third round which is fantastic although we may have that taken off us due to Lynch it's reported.

I really don't subscribe to the 'we stuck by him then he leaves' thoughts.

It's just a matter of list management, nothing more nothing less.

He was playing reasonable footy in the structure of a team that won most of it's games, so it was working for both parties.

Now the list changes as it does every year and it suits both parties to do this. Thanks, luv ya and good luck. As Dimma said in his speech, all players moving will always have a home at Tigerland.

Pros and cons of him leaving, but it's an exciting opportunity for our list to grow.

Thanks Reece, good on ya - glad that ankle injury wasn't as bad as it first looked.

So Long "Divide And" !

On to more pressing issues.

Who will now step up as President of the first in after a goal Cuddles Committee?
