Wouldn't hurt to drop Rioli , make him earn his spot

Based on feedback looks like it's Rioli, Castagna, Butler and Weller out. Who we replacing them with?

Just shows we don't really have great depth and experience means everything. Next game we'll be playing without Rance, Reiwoldt, Grigg, Caddy maybe Houli. That's a huge amount of lost experience. Our windows of opportunity is closing. Those guys and Edwards, Cotchin, Astbury, even Martin and Grimes are in the latter parts of their careers and their best is behind them. This is probably the last year in our current window and unless we can do something to change our form and game style from what we've shown even in the JLT games it is looking very unlikely that we will compete with the best teams.

Probably add Grimes to the outs on that list

Toby Greene is out this week, does anyone know what injury he has?

Sore ribs from laughing too hard when he seen RFC selected Weller and Ellis in the same team.

2 losses in a row to a very well drilled Collingwood who simply played with finals intensity between chipping the ball around. Out first home and away loss at the MCG since we lost to the Swans mid 2017. We have some injuries and we have some players out of form. We wake up post round 2 at 1 and 1. If its the injury season from hell, so be it, lets see what we have with Balta, Ross and co.

If Jack is unavailable and Grimes cops week(s) then we make the changes and carry on. We missed the class / composure of Caddy and Grigg but against the fast collingwood team, we would have still lost with Houli, Alex, Caddy and Grigg playing.

Play the next gen who now have tanks and have earned some consecutive games.

Markov
Menadue
Baker
Bolton
Garthwaite
Moore
Aarts

Back to playing VFL to reignite the hunger/get back their form
Butler
Castagna
Rioli
Graham
Lambert

We have players to fit back in WHEN FULLY FIT and IN FORM
Caddy
Grigg
Houli
Townsend

They slot back in to replace the next gen who dont manage to step up after a few games, or others that are still on notice.
Short
Ellis
Weller

Plenty of time for newbies to build up a tank and get some consistency
Balta
Ross
Stack

Depending on the weather, if dry I would put Balta in for Jack as well as Soldo to help Nank .
I would give Ellis one last chance and drop Weller.
I cannot understand why Balta was dropped.

Dimma always gives a team that was disgraced a chance to redeem themselves the next week with minimal changes. Reckon this will happen again. The forced changes will be JR and Grimes. Weller and Markov will be really lucky to stay in but Dimma doesn't usually make wholesale changes.

Mumford is available round 3, if GWS go with Dawson Simpson and Mumford we will have to think seriously about using Soldo IMO. Too much beef for Nank to handle. And Balta should still play, GWS have a number of quick tall players.

Torn between 6 or 7 changes and only those necessary through injury and suspension.
Came down somewhere near the middle.
In Baker Balta Bolton Garthwaite Ross
Out Grimes Riewoldt, Ellis Rioli and Weller.

B Astbury Garthwaite Broad
HB McIntosh Valistun Balta
C Bolton Cotchin Short
HF Baker Edwards Butler
F Martin Lynch Higgins
R Nankervis Ross Lambert
I/C Castagna Graham Markov Prestia
Travelling Em Naish Soldo Stack.
