Agree. If your club is rotten it dosent who you pick, it turns to *smile* very quickly.Always been the environment outside the top 20-30 picks as well.
Richmond in that era, Melbourne until recently, Carltoon and Essendumb from today U could give them all the top picks you wanted, but they were always destined to fail because of the club structure, coaches, admin, facilities, etc.
Get that right you might go somewhere.
Implant Benny Gale's name here
Well, who’s to say they both weren’t happy with that Scoop. Each to their own and all that.Yeah but if a kid was in a club's zone back then they were usually never available in the draft because they'd sign with the club at 16. Justin Leppitsch was a notable exception and that was around the time it started changing. He could have signed with Hawthorn as a zone player but chose to go into the draft.
Hawthorn were kissed on the d with their zones, whereas a club like Melbourne were f*d in the a.
Yeah the West Coast shenanigans around 1990 as well, draft Heady at 92 and McIntosh at 112, then everyone woke up to their furphy.Yeah but if a kid was in a club's zone back then they were usually never available in the draft because they'd sign with the club at 16. Early Castagna - On debut, against Melbourne he was unable to kick a goal but instead registered five behinds.Robbie Powell was good.
Flat out lying man, I don't recall none of them names at Richmond!!Agree. If your club is rotten it dosent who you pick, it turns to *smile* very quickly.
We are in dreamworld currently.
Lynch Caddy Prestia Taranto Hopper and even Tarrant.
That's top billings when it comes to bringing in players.
I remember the days of the Johnny Howat & Clinton King & Stephan Jackson & Robbie Powell & Baldwin & Jamie Elliott & Todd Brenan & Michael Roberts & Chris Burton etc
The best thing about Blumfield (only thing ?) was his girlfriend.Flat out lying man, I don't recall none of them names at Richmond!!
God, bad memories man just Wow!!!!!
Terry Keays, Chris Sullivan, Wayne Thornborrow, Ashley Blurton, Paul Hudson, Blumfield.
You would think we were going for the flag and topping up depth players on the list rated 20-30
I didn't see that, he was a, after draft pick, 116 got drafted, then they had a post draft for West Coast (1989), they had three picks, Heady (117 really), Tony Begovich, Brad Gwilliam.Kemp 102.
Yeah I know it's the run and some K's in the legs for stamina, work out some structures right now, but I like their additions nearly as much as ours.Ah they’re only pre season games. I’m expecting we’ll get a bit of a touch up from Melbourne on Saturday. And if we do, won’t worry me too much. More concerned about injuries.
I still think Brisbane are operating a bit short. That backline looks real ordinary to me. Their ruck stocks are poor. And when the whips are cracking, that midfield looks a bit slow.Yeah I know it's the run and some K's in the legs for stamina, work out some structures right now, but I like their additions nearly as much as ours.
If we got Dunkley, Ashcroft and GUnston over a summer, I'd be really happy with that.
No other club additions this summer excite me like theirs and ours.
We haven't had a good father & son since Richo 93 and Bowden 97.Yeah I know it's the run and some K's in the legs for stamina, work out some structures right now, but I like their additions nearly as much as ours.

Yeah the defence is their concern and can Daniher and Charlie do something in big games.I still think Brisbane are operating a bit short. That backline looks real ordinary to me. Their ruck stocks are poor. And when the whips are cracking, that midfield looks a bit slow.
But they’ll win a bunch in Brisbane and be top 4 or thereabouts again.
