Premier League 2022/2023/2024/2025

Money taking over League 1 this year. I think several of you know I support Peterborough, well Birmingham have just "smashed", probably better to say annihilated the transfer record for a league 1 team. Between 10m-15m GBP, compared to the previous of about 3.4m. They've spent around about 25m since being relegated from the Championship. Thats a lot of money to try and compete with, alongside Wrexham who came up last year and have money to burn on wages. We almost signed a centre half earlier this pre-season, but he went to Wrexham when they basically doubled his wages, hard to keep up with that. I hadn't realised that they earn almost 0.5m from each episode of This is Wrexham, pretty hard for the rest of the league to compete.

Going to be tough at the top this year.

Birmingham probably a club that notionally don’t belong at that level. Just naturally a so called, ‘bigger club’ than most of their peers in that league. So have a budget to match. If they don’t win the division by 15-20pts, poor value for money.

Wrexham of course well publicised. A very different business model than we have seen before. The interesting part will be, how long can that business model last, trampolining them up through the divisions?

some interest in some fixtures this week.

Forrest v Wolves

Ipswich v Fulham

Everton v Bournemouth

Brentford v Southampton

Arsenal v B H A

Geordies v Spurs

Scousers v Utd

Saints, Toffees, Ipswich, Wolves, Palace are all yet to post a point.

Lutons slow start to their return to the Champo continues to stutter.

Going down 1 -2 to QPR .

Thats only 1 draw and 1 point from the opening 4 games for Luton and puts em on the bottom for now..

The Champ is pretty open this season, none of the relegated Prem sides are certs to go back up.

Birmingham are backed by an American consortium. I know Tom Brady is part of it, but they are rich owners flexing in League 1.

I think Wrexhams model will give them an advantage in League 1. If they can get into the Championship, they'll find it much tougher.

Everton 2-0 up over Bournemouth at the 87th minute.

Everton lose 2-3 within 14 minutes.

Outrageous.

Goodson might be burnt down tonight!!,!!

Dyche seriously close to the trap door.

Southampton will get mullered every week on a long road back to the Champo if they don’t cjnage their style in the Big League.

I think the three promoted from the Champ the year Luton went up were comparatively weak pickings. So stands to reason now they’ve come back down, they’ve just slotted into the general load of washing.

And also not surprised, all three of them came
straight down. Not actually that common for that to happen. Further proof that was a pretty weak year.

Looks like these seats might be a popular pick to try and NOT watch Everton.
