PRE 2017 Phantom Draft

Message for Turk, I've switched you to Essendon to get things moving (I've taken Hawks).

Sorry mate just got back home had to step out

#48 Essendon
Ryley Stoddart (183cm, 73kg from Eastern Ranges)

Gold Coast select Brayden Crossley ...mainly because he’s from the Gold Coast so there’s less likelihood of him wanting to “go home”.

The 198cm, 105kg, man mountain was named one of Gold Coast's best players in their seven-point win against Brisbane in the NEAFL at the weekend. Coming up against seasoned Brisbane ruck duo Archie Smith and Oscar McInerney, Crossley secured 17 disposals, four tackles, 33 hitouts, five clearances and six inside 50s as Gold Coast's lead ruckman.

Swans select Casey Demons forward Bayley Fritsch

With Adelaide not having another list spot for Jackson Edwards

#53 Richmond select Jackson Edwards (adelaide father son)

Big bodied inside / outside mid 185cm 79kg with a beautiful left foot kick and good footy smarts
Also being pick #53 will surely be a Gun mid.

"im average a team-high 24 disposals. He’s carried on that good form to SANFL level where he has played two senior games for Glenelg, finishing with 17 touches and eight marks against Adelaide then, most recently, 25 touches, four clearances and a goal against Sturt. When you see him move around a footy field, it’s hard not to compare him to Simon Black with long, graceful and smooth ball drop onto his left boot."

Pick 52. Brisbane

Brayden Ainsworth

The Lions opt for some more steel in the middle, Ainsworth is an All-Australian & has played well in the WAFL reserves so should be ready to roll in 2018.

Jumped the gun but revenge is sweet. ;D

Sorry Bullus , Think i might have jumped the gun a bit there mate

Gold Coast select that star Brandon Starcevich;

Playing a pivotal role in Western Australia winning their third of four Under-18 Championships game, the nephew of Collingwood's Craig Starcevich, Brandon Starcevich, 187cm, 88kg, helped the Western Australian midfield get on top. Starcevich gathered 22 disposals, 14 contested possessions, eight tackles, five clearances and one score assist.

What first jumps out at you with Starcevich is his power in the contest. He wins the ball at the goal face but also delivers a powerful "don't argue" and will barge through tackles with force and if unable to break the tackle, handball to a target without going to ground.

#55 - Richmond
Charlie Ballard
Height, Weight: 195cm, 81kg

As francis Jackson would say - We cant believe Charlie lasted to our pick #55 , We rated him as a 2nd rounder and would have been happy to select him there.

Charlie is one of these mids/wing that has had a growth spurt late and and could become a mobile foward in the future
Has a nice leap and reads the play well that can play foward or midfield.

We expect him to become the next Nat Fyfe

If Murphy had been gone I would have taken him at 30.

#17 - Patrick Naish
#20 - Oscar Allen
#25 - Sam Hayes
#53 - Jackson Edwards
#55 - Charlie Ballard

I think thats a pretty reasonable Haul for the Mighty Tigers
Although i would have also loved to have gotten Aiden Bonar & Noah Balta but cant have it all our way

Still some really nice players left that i would be looking at with the 2 Rookie spots remaining

Collingwood select Tom Atkins Geelong VFL at pick 56. Inspired by Richmond's great victory this year we will try and apply a lot more pressure on the opposition in 2018. We feel that Tom is a tackling machine who can bring the heat next year from round one.

You Mongrel! Adelaide crew went stepped out to the pub and get shafted. Not happy. I'm doing an angry power ranger stance in your general direction

This was a revenge selection but Edwards will go onto become a Richmond champ and play 300 games and win 2 flags.

Just to keep things humming along I'll pick Nick Shipley for GWS, he's an academy player so will inevitably find himself on the GWS list.

At pick 58 the Cats pick Charlie Spargo.

Tigers Of Old, you have 3 of the next 4 picks, this is your moment of truth.
