Possible State League Recruits 2012 drafts

Can we get him via GWS pre-selection? From what I've seen he's more an outside speedy type with a nice kick.

No idea Disco regarding GWS pre-selection. It could be another Morris type deal.

Looking at his stats he seems to be regularly in the bests for Sandringham.

Rumour has it that Myke Cook from Sandringham Zebras is on our radar. He was previously on the Adelaide Crows list.

22 year old inside midfielder. 184cm 83kg.

Good. Likely type. Reckon he is more outside then inside. Moves like Travis Johnstone, long strider, swallows up the ground, looks like hs is not as quick as he is. Would be ready to go next year. Can kick the ball really well. Bit like Issac Smith.

Assuming GWS doesnt pre-list him would he be someone you take with a late ND pick or a rookie?

Late ND pick. After 60.

There is no preselection this year as far as I'm aware. The only advantages GWS have are uncontracted players and 17 year old preselection

I believe they can.

2011 and 2012 post-season, AFL-listed player access:
GWS Giants to have capacity to pre-list 10 players who had previously nominated for the AFL Draft, or were previously listed with an AFL club. If the club does not sign 10 players after the 2011 season, it can sign the balance of up to 10 players at the end of the 2012 season.

GWS Giants to have capacity to sign up to 16 uncontracted players. Maximum of one player from other AFL clubs, unless a club agrees to trade more than one player to GWS Giants. If the club does not sign 16 uncontracted players after the 2011 season, it can sign the balance of up to 16 players at the end of the 2012 season.

They only have one state league preselction choice left though and they will use that for themselves. No Morris deals this year.

Myke Cook - 17 Games (8 times in best) & 18 goals.

He has been averaging 18.9 disposals per game this season so far from dominating the VFL not sold on him as being one of our maturer rookies.

Dean Towers 22yo 189cm wingman - 14 games (1 time in best) & 7 goals

Averaging 15.2 disposals, again at 22 you need to be tearing the VFL to be selected by an AFL club imo. Haven't seen him play but on the raw stats its a pass.

A player I like on the other hand is ADAM MARCON 20 yo 180cm 80kg 17 games (8 times in best) & 13 goals

Averaging 24.3 disposals a game, he won the Knights B&F ahead of Caddy i am pretty sure as well a couple of years back.

Coburgs David Fahey 9 games with 6 appearances in the bests as a KPD. He has been right under our nose and trained with Richmond last year so would have to be a sneaky chance.

He is one I have wanted to rookie for the last couple of years.

Could easily do a Sam Gibson in 2013.

Have been impressed with this guy for Coburg this year.

We'd probably have to delist Wright though to pick up Fahey on the rookie list - otherwise we'll have too many defenders on the rookie list with Darrou likely to be kept on.

Having said that, sounds like we will be changing our stance on the rookie list this year with us having a real look at experienced players. Sewell/Valenti to name a couple that would be a good get on a rookie list.

fahey is infinitely better than piva wright. and ben darrou. I think fahey will be picked up by us, infact, confidant in that happening

I am biased as I am a huge Claremont fan, but I really hope we are looking at Kane Mitchell.

A little on the small side, but great used of the footy who finds it all day. Inside mid who hs that explosiveness when released.

Would be a great and cheap insurance for Nathan Foley, who we missed badly when he was out injured this year.

What's your opinion of Tom Lee, Streaker?

He can play McGuane's role at either end of the ground. Good pace for his size, a good field kick and set shot for goal, and athletic in the mix.

Was hoping we might have picked him up last year. Face some competition if we want him this year.

Cheers mate. I was hoping that last year too. I'd be surprised if he ended up at Tigerland now.
