Pick 53: Jack Graham

Disagree. After watching him closely these last 3 games he is super important to our structure. He hunts the oppositions best midfielder and seriously reduces their effectiveness.

The biggest thing I have noticed is that he is a two way runner.

Covers a lot of ground and this is off a limited pre-season.

Yesterday on Sen ,

They asked Mick Malthouse who has the best midfield ,

He said if you don't look at names or reputations and just look at how they work as a unit , it's hard to go past the tigers

We've known all year that Graham is coming through and I believe his arrival bears out the idea that midfielders can take us higher. And that we need more.

In most of our games for 2017 we've had periods when we couldn't get our hands on the ball. That's midfield weakness. Lack of rotations.

This changed over the past three weeks. Graham can only play a half ATM but that half has been invaluable. Two or three clearances and eight or so telling tackles. Match-changing stuff. Numbers we weren't going to get.

Freed by Towner, Caddy is also getting clear.

Prestia has levelled up too. And look at how much richer our rotations are.

Just a half a game of elite from Jack Graham has improved us massively.

He targets stars, TM. Successfully. I love the ambition.

Should play in the VFL Prelim, if he is eligible, get some run into him.
Doubt he'll play 2's again for a long time unless returning from injury.

Can't help smiling every time I read this Thread title. Pick 53, see your Luke Parker and raise you one.

His first 5 games will be 5-0
3 finals including a winning grand final
2 HA games
1 Flag

And then becomes the first player to win the rising star as an existing premiership player.

5 tackles in the 1st quarter, what a way to stamp yourself as a finals player
yeah, fantastic. He, Prestia, Lablett and Chimp set the tone.

Seems like an old head on young shoulders. Doesn't seem fazed at all. Just goes about it, and very calmly at that.

Loving this kid. So well built for his age and he is not afraid. How good is he at getting in and tackling. He is gunna be a star ⭐

How good for his development to have played when he has? Reckon he's had a 50 game acceleration. Recall Malthouse always saying how important it was for a young players development to play in big games. Bodes well for his future.
