Pick 53: Jack Graham

CC TIGER said:
Was surprised how little of possessions he had, much bigger impact then the story they told. Hard ,tough ,skilled ,what's not to like about this kid. His a bit quicker then his reputation I reckon

He only played 60percent game time. Is being managed. Still managed 8 contested possies and 9 tackles so is progressing well. Well done to the young fella for grabbing the opportunity.

Tackling machine.

What a pickup at #53
It amazes me that happened , I mean if he was a pick in the top 10 , you would still be rapt in his progress

In Jack we now have the highly skilled hardnut midfielder we have been missing for so long. Going to be a star for many years
5 tackles in the 1st quarter, what a way to stamp yourself as a finals player

How the *smile* did every club ignore Jaaack2 for so long in the draft? Just stepped into the team like he's been around for years.

Wait til he does 2 or 3 pre seasons. Didn't do any this year.

Wow.

Tackling machine and a beast.

Steal of the year.

Hope the police don't come knocking on our door.

Another made for finals.

9 tackles last night. In such a short time has become a really important and complimentary part of our mid field mix.

Really looking foward to watching Jack in 2018 after a good pre season under his belt and 4/5 games with 2 of them being big finals

Hope he really builds his tank and hits the wieghts hard ( kid needs to be a brute)

I said it the second his name was called out - Our Joel Selwood

He just loves the hard stuff and its great to watch. Look out when he gets a bit more of an offensive game going on and starts getting consistent possessions into the 20's.

9 tackles, heaps of pressure, 9 possessions but 8 of them were contested, see ball, go for ball.

There was 1 part in Q1 when Geelong had the ball, Southern Stand wing and he chased must have been 4 handballs between their players putting pressure on all of them, 1 drops it on the boot, McIntosh takes an easy uncontested intercept mark. Grahams turnover without a doubt. Just showed how much he wanted to get the ball back off Geelong.

How good are young blokes?

I didn't think he could contribute in finals due to his limited preseason but his competitive instincts make him the perfect fit for what we value. Just cracks in but is calm with ball in hand.

We have a certified inside mid waiting in the wings.

Robbie Harvey.

Just reflecting on Jack.

In his 3 games, we have won by an average of ~70 points. We have played 3 teams who we have previously lost to (one very badly), and in these 3 games we have comprehensively won the midfield battle. We are playing our best footy of the season.

In correlation with Jack's pressure efforts in the midfield?

Yes! I thought the same.
We now have a better balance and depth and he is/ will be a genuine quality midfielder.
Makes a huge difference when turnovers are reduced and replaced with good disposal.....can be four goals a game .
