Phantom Draft 2016

Carlton selects Jamie Hampton, the younger brother of Curtly and a similar type as a running half-back. He's a great size at 187cm and 81kg, with good pace, nice evasive movement and kicking. He's defensively good and finds the ball, averaging 17.5 disposals at Nationals, 24 touches in two TAC games, 23 in two SANFL reserves games, and 16 in two SANFL u/18s games.

With Tuohy gone and Simpson on his last legs, the Blues need to add run out of defence and are pleased to land Jamie here.

Sydney

Liam Ryan - Subiaco

The lighting fast 20yold from Subiaco

This rounds out Sydney's draft.

They have added an elite leader in Berry and then 3 exciting indigenous forwards who will come through together and form a formidable bond.

Any more Sydney picks are a Pass

just following the ph draft here but lost track with all the bidding etc.

what number pick are you up to?

Pick 56 - W.C.E - Jake Waterman

Height: 189cm, Weight: 84kg, DOB: 6/5/1998
Recruited From: Claremont Tigers
Position: Medium Forward/Midfielder

A really smart, strong forward with a fierce tackling mentality and an appetite to always be first to the ball, Jake Waterman is the second son of Dual West Coast Premiership player Chris, and younger brother to listed Eagle, Alec, however Jake certainly looks the pick of the two brothers. With the ability to get up the ground and use his powerful frame at the contest, Waterman starred up forward for WA in last year’s National Championships, kicking the most goals for the Sandgroppers. Waterman’s standout trait is his marking game – he hits the ball at full speed, marks strongly overhead, and also loves to reach for the ball out in front. Whilst not a key position player, he is an elite mark for his height and demands the ball with his smart leading patterns.

Tigers pick our next new whipping boy: Ryan Garthwaite, a 193cm intercepting defender with an awful (but efficient ) kicking style.

The ol' double handed ball drop, will be interesting to see if coaches can fix it. Darren Gaspar had something similar and he was dual AA.

Garth had a bloody good game for the Bushies in the TAC grannie, side under the pump all game n he played seriously composed n smart footy. Shocking kicking style, but I think only flubbed his kicks twice.
