Was that the one where there'd been zero contact? My wife was watching and asked what was that. I just answered dangerflop. It was embarrassing and needs to be highlighted alongside the halftime preliminary flop with a "please explain" to the AFL and media.
Yes, there was nothing in it, our Broady didn't nothing more than look at him.

I'm in the unfortunate accident camp. Both players moving at speed, ball drew him up, no time to react. It was so fast I doubt anyone watching on TV even knew what had happened until they saw a replay. Missed free kick but nothing more. I thought it was pretty telling that even with the game stopped there was zero angst from the players towards Dangerfield. No way that happens if they think he clubbed him on purpose.
I can see it both ways but this is definitely a possibility. I mean I play low grade basketball but this kind of scenario is pretty common and could happen multiple times in many games. Main difference Is you are tapping the ball in this scenario and not punching it. When it happens you typically tap (or rebound) the ball and turn your whole body to brace for contact but also tuck your arm next to your body and not leave it dangling out there. If the person arrives with their head at exactly the wrong moment you can accidentally elbow them in the head - I’ve done it once going for a rebound and other player was hurt - but everyone knew I was just going for the ball. I’m torn as to whether or not he had time to brace for impact and pull his arm in and if his eyes for the ball meant his awareness of where vlaustin was, was poor or not.

even the Cats fans were roasting him for staying forward when the Tigers were on top in the middle.

Don't like Danger much, but on this occasion that criticism of him is unfair. Scott said in his presser that that was a coaching decision. Scott said they had a choice and decided to back their midfield to regain control of the centre of the ground with Danger staying forward.

It didn't work obviously, and when Danger was finally moved there to start the last qtr., we had our tails well and truely up and he couldn't stem the flow.

What I don't get though, is why the Cats look at Danger as a forward option in the first place. He is not a natural forward in the Dusty mould, or even Brendan Goddard. When he is successful playing forward, Danger is still a midfielder and tends to lead up a lot. Dusty, on the other hand, turns into a forward predator and just circles the forward line menacingly looking for an opportunity. And it is not like the Cats had to put Danger forward to break a hard tag because we didn't run with him.

The other issue is that D.Martin has got to be one of the best readers of the game in history. He just knows where to go to get the footy. Our coaches pretty much let him decide when to go forward and when to go mid. As seen in the 2017 grandfinal with that goal Brown just before half time. As good a player as anyone else is, this is what separates Dusty from the pack.

I agree, but I still think it warrants a suspension. There was a double action IMO, but I don't think Danger meant it, it was instinctive.

Have posted elsewhere that Ken Hinkley did the same thing years ago to Tony Hall, it was pure reflex, but he still got rubbed out. It meets all the criteria, high forceful contact to the head, high impact.

The head is sacrosant........

One other thing with Dangerfield which I found interesting was his post match answer to the Vloss hit.

He said there were 3 Tigers running at him. I am not sure if there really was, and I am not going to suggest for a second that he is soft or was scared, but in reality I don't think that was the case.

It makes we wonder about what mindset Danger was in during the game. Clearly he might have just been saying that to justify what happened, but it seems a strange comment.

There's got to be some consistency in the MRO's findings.
If an allegedly "Instinctive Action" gets you off even when a player is KO'd and misses the rest of the game then Christian should be going back and issuing an apology to all of the other players that have been rubbed out for "Accidental Head Clashes" etc.

Bloody good footballer, however like I’ve said it doesn’t sit well with me that his an 8 time AA . Unlikely as it is the media haters who keep wanting to say that his the best going around need to eat humble pie, as Dusty proved well an truly who is the best player going around, in fact Danger is not even in the conversation as the best of the past decade.

The Vlaustin hit rattled him big time imho
Spot on it is an absolute joke that he has twice the AA selections as Dusty. Just farcical.

So. Christian sent Lynch to the tribunal for a push to hurleys upper chest, which Hurley said he exaggerated. But nothing to see here

Clearly... 2 arm movements:
1. To punch the ball away
2. To raise his elbow to connect with Flossy's jaw (rather than dropping it down to absorb the contact/impact)

Clearly... 1 leg movement:
1. To raise his right leg to brace for contact

Dangerfield:

"I didn't think there was much in it."
"I was trying to tap the ball away, there were three Richmond players coming towards me."
"Had it been something there would have been repercussions on the field and for everyone it is just play on, it is a contact sport."

Let, by Christian, go through to the keeper... bewildered!

2 players. Vlastuin and Grimes(?). I doubt Grimes would have even been in his peripheral vision.

Heard same presser. I interpreted what Scott said it was a discussion between the coaches and Dangerfield that he stay forward.

Either way, a teams best footballer would have the coach's permission to move himself to where he feels he can influence the game best.

Dangerfield didn't have the balls to do it.

Dusty on the other hand goes where he knows he's needed - he's a brilliant reader of the play and the game.

Further proof Dusty is a true champion whilst Dangerfield is only a media champion....
