Paddy Dangerdive

I can’t wait to see how dingerflop feels when the Tiger army greets him next season :cupgold :gotiges:))
Great point. Much like Toby Green.
The Tiger Army roar/boo/jeer at them and you can see their shoulders sink.

Dangerflog will crawl in a hole.

Looking back I can understand why he got off, in real time it just happened too quickly after be punched the ball. I would be upset if Dusty did it and got suspended.

I used to love Danger, he was the toughest bugger back at the crows. He has turned into a pantomime of self with production credits going to Joel Selwood.

He's the AFL love child.
Gifted a position in the AA squad on the flanks and made captain. That in its self is a joke.
Let off by the tribunal. Don't want to taint his poster boy image.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

At the very least Dangerfield's forearm into the face of Vlastuin should have been cited and sent to the tribunal.

To me this is very simple, going by the rules: did Dangerfield strike another person?

That is what the rules say, nothing else, nothing about the circumstances, just a simple question - did he strike another person?

If the answer is yes then the player gets reported and the tribunal can pore over the video and decide if there is a penalty.

The fact that it wasn't even cited, no fine, not sent to the tribunal, just shows how arrogant the AFL is. This should at least have been looked at by the tribunal.

I think by now even the most ardent Danger supporters realise he just goes missing when it gets too hard in big finals.

An unheralded Grand Final moment for Geelong was the moment an umpire gave them a free kick in the centre square.

Both Selwood & Dangerfield thought it was for them.

Another memorable moment for Geelong was when Richmond received a free kick, but Dangerfield walked back with his head down thinking it was for him.

I reckon we have become obsessed with 'flopping'. That's a forward being outbodied by a defender for mine, credit belongs to Broad.

Calling it a flop is selling him short I think.
Nope, that’s a flop. Slight touch to the back and he’s down like a sack o spuds.

Yeah. He's well-beaten and gives up the ghost on the ball, but it's not really a dive. The first time I saw it I thought he was playing for a free, but its a really just a tired effort after great work by Broady.

This is the obvious flop in the last. Not one mention of it like the obvious preliminary flop in the media. Putting mayo on is one thing when the contact is there. This is something else.
Geelong have so many staging moves in their repertoire that he ended up not knowing which one to go for on this occasion and confusing himself. Started out as the duckwood too high job, then changed his mind mid-stage and thought about a dive and ended up just falling over.

Another good one was the free kcik to Astbury in the middle (last quarter) when Short bumped him off the contest and took the mark. No way Shorty should ever be able to out body Dangerfield in a marking contest but because Dangerfield thinks about staging he throws his body forward to get a free kick.

If it was a "flop" he'd fall forwards, he doesn't, he goes backwards until his legs collapse and then his body moves forward.

Dangerfield has form for diving but this ain't one. Give the credit to Broad for great body work as TBR says. It is a tired, weak effort though, I'll give you that.

Nope, a flop can be any way: fall, move, or hang in a loose and ungainly way.

Clear flop. He has the habit.

And we are only touchy about it because of the treatment of Vlas, Grimes and Rance before them.

Look where the ball was heading. Broad is having to stretch up. Good body work by Broad but dangerfield felt the contact and tried to manoeuvre Broad's arm over his shoulder by collapsing his knees.
Then he looked pleadingly to the ump
"Nothing in it" said the ump
It is hard wired into dangerfield

Ok I'll put it in my footy dictionary
We should all put in a few $$ for TBR to take you to the theatre. Never realised you two were so culturally deprived!! :D

An absolute certain dive only intended to fool the umpires into awarding him a free-kick. Sure, Broad has beaten him, out-bodied him, so he leans back and flops onto the turf trying to make out he was pushed vigorously in the back.

Such blind nonsense to claim it was anything else. Look at how he drops his lower body, takes his eyes off the ball, casts them to the heavens, then the absolute giveaway (for anyone in doubt), throws the arms back.

Yes, a Shakespearean performance. So dramatic that even the umps could spot the over-acting! Tired? PLEASE ...
