Operation Get Mick!

He has today categorically ruled out ever being a senior coach again. It's over.

Hasn't he also said: I will be at collingwood for the next few years.
I'm not going anywhere.
He was happy with the way the contract was handled, etc?

Big difference being he was in a job when he said those things and coaching a team in pursuit of a flag.
He's now got no reason to say 'never' but he has, definitively.

I'd actually hate to see MM at Richmond. I want Hardwick to have a proper shot at this, in his own way. Malthouse couldn't help but impose his ideologies on the staff/players with the ego that he has. Imagine trying to coach on match day with MM peering over your shoulder. No thanks.

We really need Dimma to stay whatever happens next year.

Give the bloke a full list first before talk of the sack FFS.

Anyway, media will try to push him out the door quicker than us supporters could anyway the scheming basts.

A few losses and Hutchy will be in his element.

I fully agree. Hardwick is the main man and he should treated as such.

I'm a fan but personally I'd wait until 3/4s through the season before looking to re-sign Dimma for another 2/3 years.
No rush, let's just see what unfolds.

This is the best approach, although the club needs to have a very clear picture on what it wants and expects from Dimma next season. I don't care who he is or how much pressure he can handle, he must have a twinge at the very least of vulnerability about his job.

My concern is whther we have a football manager or similar who can really see the wood for the trees and nows what is realistic and required in terms of results for next season. It is about now I start to think that I wish we had a reall footy man onboard to guide the club in this regard, a Neil Balme type perhaps.

The last things we need right now is Dimma coahing for his future, not the club's. And I don't think he will, but he must be supported in his efforts.

Dont worry about Hutchy. Damien Parrot will be creaming his dacks!

Excellent post streaker.
They've already stated that they'll be looking at playing finals next year. Just hope it's not at the expense of our longer term planning.
Must admit I too am happy in a way that Malthouse has publicly ruled himself out. Relieves that pressure valve just a little.

how do you see it(playing finals in 2012) not in the plan dimma's on a 5 year deal right? 3rd year you would want to be playing finals, specialy when we should of been playing this year, 4 games we should of won saints , port, suns, and roos would of given us that

people seem to have blind faith in hardwick. was in favour of his appointment but don't have blind faith in anyone. personally have big question marks over his game plan from what I have seen so far. give him until end of next year to prove his worth, and if the team and game plan/style does not show enough improvement, cut him and appoint malthouse.

Agree there. The list needs to change pretty drastically as there are only 5-6 real untouchables. Some players either need to come on quickly or be cut, but when you see certain types who have been in the system for many many years with no sort of improvement in the basics - hell knows!
