For all his show traits, the shorts around the neck and the other stuff singing out of key to make records and porn,he was a very very good footballer.

He was a Tiger lad so I like him.

LOL we should get together a list of Richmond supporting footballers.
Would be quite a football team.

Tim Watson.
Shane Crawford.
Luke Hodge.
Warrick Capper.
Shane Southby.
Wayne Harmes.
Nigel Lappin.

Ask Wayne Harmes right here and now who he barracks for and he will tell you Richmond. True story

Looking forward to tomorrow night. Kennedy senior is on and it will be interesting to see his insights...."Don't think.. do".

Watched the Kevin Sheedy one last night.
Gee, he really came across to me as self-centred, arrogant, and just looking down his nose at Sheahan.
I got the impression he had no time for Sheahan at all.
Fair enough, but I wonder why he agreed to go on if that's the case.

Just a sensational program, though. The insights to want went on with some of these players in the 70s and 80s is fascinating. Not a Sheahan fan but he is doing very well with these interviews.

Loved the Open Mike with Corey McKernan last night. Of course Corey wouldn't remember it but he once made a little boy very happy. My son sent him a note in the mail and Corey wrote a lovely letter back to him. He invited my son to training. He showed him around then took him into the social room to meet players etc. He was an extremely nice fella.

I loved the North Melbourne of that era. Corey alluded to the strong bond the players had. They certainly played that way. He cherishes the McDonald's pretend Brownlow his team mates gave him when he missed out due to suspension.

Speaking of which I thought Corey got the Brownlow * due to the tripping by hand incident and thought he was very hard done by. I came into the room last night and they were discussing a different incident, more a knee in the back. For anyone watching the show last night why were they talking about that second incident in regard to the Brownlow?

Rosy, Corey missed out on the Rising Star award for the hand trip, and missed out on the Brownlow due to the knee in the head of John Barnes (fell on him from memory).

I think they were discussing the tripping incident as causing him to miss the rising star award.

yeah the knee to the head charge was pretty soft as well, looked like he just fell rather than tried to knee him, although he didn't make a great effort to avoid his head either!

Thanks for the info. I always thought he missed the Brownlow due to tripping.

No problems. He certainly had a roller-coaster of a career. At his peak, there were always discussion whether he was the best player in the game, even including Carey. At his worst, he couldn't get a kick. 2 Premierships makes a great career in any case. He has a really interesting post-footy career with his sports tours business, taking people to see sporting events all over the world.

Ron McKeon not such a good memory, got dropped for Essendon final, he got 2 disposals against them in r19. Suspect Matthews got that one right.
