Storm lose their 1st game of the season beaten 30-12 by Wests Tigers.Deplorable 1st half by Storm but showed something in 2nd half but maybe players are starting to believe their own publicity.Tigers played well & should make the 8.The sad news is Benji Marshall did his shoulder again,hopefully its not another reco.
Tiges were great last night despite no Hodgson ,no Marshall +Ben Galea concussed & unavailable until late in the game. Got the benefit of most,if not all of the marginal calls but you make your own luck if you put the effort in + 'karma' re closs losses earlier in the season. Ok to 'bask in the glory' today but need to refocus quickly to guard against complacency in preparing for next game v Dragons. Hopeful Marshall's shoulder injury not needing another (4th) reconstracction but no official word until scans tomorrow.Have to think he'd be missing for a month,at least,in a 'best case' outcome. Couldn't fail to notice on the telecast the crowd struck up a definite 'Balmain' chant several times during the game. The public still recognise who is the soul of this club even if the NRL continue to deny it..
Melbourne were accommodating 'guests' in not being prepared to play until the 2nd 1/2 , now doubt after a spray from the coach. They'll be better for the run.
