Tiger74 said:given the NRL seem to have no standards at all, is this a problem? would you want your company associated with a club that condones bestiality?
Pretty well put SreakStreak said:How would they condone bestiality by not sacking him? That is a pretty shallow argument. I'd suggest he has an alcohol problem, and quite clearly as he explained it was a tasteless joke. There is no doubt he would not do that in front of his team mates, even if it was his go.
I am not suggesting that he shouldn't have been sacked or stood down of his own volition. I merely think he has paid a high price for what was a tasteless joke on Mad Monday when he was undoubtedly as full as a goog.
Forget that his career is over, that he will not play the game again at this level or earn the money that would have brought him. Forget that he might have gone to jail in another state, although I doubt their would be enough evidnece on what I have seen of the photo.
For the rest of his life he will live with his actions as shocking as they were and the attention that will undoubtedly bring.
Has quit the club & will head overseas.Despite his act of stupidity l think he's been treated pretty harshly.A 6 week suspension would have been sufficient.Streak said:Joel Monaghan has paid a fair price for an act of stupidity.

No excuses, not looking to blame others and has taken full responsibility for his disgusting act of idiocy in a way few do these days.
He's got to wear this for the rest of his life but he's paid a fair price already. I'd hope he's not deregistered.

At the least, Raiders' supporters will know their team will not be "dogging it" on the training track.Streak said::rofl

I just picture Gob presenting a new advertising campaign for the AFL.
Gob - "The AFL, a football league who won't steal your dog and try to have sex with it" emphasise the won't, it sort of implies the other league will."
