NRL

Full time score
Storm 28
Cronulla nil.
Storm on their last legs and tiring mid-way through the 2nd half. Bellamy will need to freshen them up for next week. Players stuffed, cramping, hands on hips. Its been a long campaign.
Cronk the general, Turner outstanding. The Storm defence was brilliant. Cameron Smith sorely missed.
(Referee Tony Archers' decision making and adjudication was near flawless)

Must say Cam Smiths' 2 game penalty for grapple tackle/attacking an opponents head seems a stiff result seeing Misi Talefetata(?) got to his feet and punched Quinn to the side of the head and the Storm got a line drop out but no penalty. Strange, you can't grab an opponent around the head but you can whack him one. A punch mustn't constitute "attacking the head". Geez you've got to laugh at that one.

Well summed up Willo, after Storm's great win Craig Bellamy launched a scathing attack on the NRL & NSW media.

Well summed up mate!

It's not surprising at all that decision against Smith.

We NEVER get the run of the green and it was always going to be a decision against us because quite simply, the NRL states hate us. They don't like us and will try everything in their power to stop us from winning. If no one can see the conspiracy in League they need to refocus.

Storm were their usual self. They were hard, disciplined, skillful and plain brilliant. Best Organisation in Australia, a well run club that gets the best out of themselves.

Your right Willo, Bellamy will need to get them freshened up for next week, a few tired and sore boys, but I think we will be fine.

Well Done Melbourne!

Great win,

the real action though was at the press conference though,

Bellamy and Waldron let rip,

And good on them , the lead up to Cam Smith's case at the judicary from the media, was a *smile* disgrace,

And for their troubles they get fined 50,000.Ricky Stuart says what he likes & gets away with it.Hard to work out.

I dare say there is a fair chance Smith wouldn't have been suspended if he didn't try to twist Thaiday's head off. Simple solution, really.

I'm no fan of any of this year's final 8 & as 'anti' as anyone re the grapple tackle but applaud Bellamy for sticking up for his club & giving it to the NRL re perceived double standards & bias.Wish there was more of it.

Ok,it cost $50k & supposedly ought to have been directed to a more 'appropriate' forum/manner but I reckon the general public like to & deserve to hear the opinions of coaches & players rather than the sterile, robotic pap we've become accustomed to.

Why wasn't coach Stuart taken to task for publically sledging Storm officials ? Happy to see Cronulla remain 'virgins',particularly while he steers them about.

Would be simple if the NRL had punished similar & worse tackles but they haven't.

Storm vs Eagles , grand final rematch,

I'm rapt , booked tix , flights , accomodation weeks ago,

I'm nowhere near as confident this year as last, we, due to injuries, suspensions, and losing that first game to Warriors, appear to be a bit battle worn ,

Manly on the other hand are a far more mature side than last, have had the better finals campaign, have a spring in their step, they deserve to go into this one as favourites IMO, but injuries to Orford, Matai and Glen Stewart ( may all be minor)could be a problem to them.

But we have had their number in recent times , Go Storm.

I love the Storm like the rest of Melbourne but I reckon they are coming across like sooks.

Cop it and move one. Winning the premiership would be the best way to stick it up them.

They are far from sooks & have bit their tongues for too long. The NRL are a basket case at the moment.

Did not expect Gus Gould of all people to go into bat for the Storm,

But here , he sums it up beautifully,

I totally agree and can't believe the stupidity of the NRL.

There is a vendetta against Melbourne no doubt about it and I applaud Bellamy for coming out and not taking their crap.

Just on Bellamy, what a coach, we at Richmond should get a mini partnership or alliance with the storm and get this man to portray his ideas to us, he is a dead set genius.

Hope the Storm win, then we will see some serious argy bargy between the Storm and the rest of the league.

Can't wait.

Well said and written Gus.
I hope that puts some people back in their boxes.
As for the $50k fine imposed on the Storm, money well spent! (even though it was excessive)
